National Eye Care Day on June 6th is a good chance for us to improve our eye health. What are common eye problems we have today? How can we protect our eyes? Read on to find out the answer.

    Eyes are important in our everyday life. We use them to read books, see colors and view the wonders of the world. But sometimes, we use them too much and it hurts them.

    In the past , nearsightedness（近视）was a common eye problem among children . This is mostly because of their bad eye habits, such as watching TV too long and reading books in bed .

    However , today's technology is changing the way we live . Children spend more time working and playing in front of computers , smart phones and iPads . US children spend more than 42 hours a week in front of electronic screens（电子屏幕）, US'ABC news reported .

    This has caused a new problem for our eyes : digital（数字的）eyestrain（眼疲劳）. People with digital eyestrain may get headaches , dry and red eyes , eye pain , watering and other eye problems .But don't worry . The following tips can help you protect your eyes . Try them out .

Screen advice :

⒈ When you are watching electronic screens , keep them at least 30 cm from your eyes . Try not to use your smart phone in direct sunlight .

⒉ Blink（眨眼）more often when you are looking at the screen . This can help to stop dry eyes .

⒊ Remember to take a 20-20-20 break : every 20 minutes , take a 20second break and look at something 20 feet ( about 6 meters ) away .

⒋ Spend less time in front of screens . One to two hours a day is OK for your eyes .

    The universe is really mystical(神秘的）.Scientists have done lots of study about it but there is still much they haven't discovered.

    Scientists think that there1life on the earth for hundreds of millions of years. However, we have not found life on any other planets2.

    There are eight planets going around the sun. The earth is one of them. There are humans, animals, and many other kinds of life on the earth. There is water and air, too. And compared to other planets, the earth is not too3or too cold. None of seven other planets has an environment like that of the earth.

    Scientists have also discovered many other galaxy in the universe. They are very far away and their light has to travel for many years to reach us. So 6is the universe? It is impossible to imagine.

    Scientists have sent spaceships to the planet Mars to7photos. They have even sent spaceships to travel outside 8 .However, no spaceship has traveled9to reach other stars in our Galaxy.

    When we see stars twinkling(闪耀）in the sky at night, we may think a lot:10so many stars in the universe, are we alone, or is there life out there in space? Have there been visitors to the earth from other planets? Why has no one communicated with us? We do not know the answer...

    Life in the year 3044 is very different 1  life in the 21st century. We still do many of the things you do, but we do them 2  For example, we now have e-friends to help us and company us. An e-friend is a machine that looks just 3 a human being. It can walk and talk and can do almost 4 we human beings do. My e- friend is a lot like me and we have 5 fun together. She helps me 6 my homework and we often go swimming. She is programmed to take care of me if anything 7, so I always feel safe when we are together.  She can also send me messages, just like old-fashioned emails, and I can download information from her memory. It's great  8an e-friend--I am never lonely and I always have someone to talk 9.

    I would like to tell you more about life in the year 3044, but I have to send my e-friend to clean up my room. Maybe 10 I will be able to travel back in time and visit you.

    Man has invented four kinds of satellites. The first kind of satellites studies the1of the earth. They are used to make maps. They also help countries to see where they can2oil or gold.

    A famous designer(设计师) and a university student produce a new cup called Vessyl. They have spent several years1it. The smart cup can not only tell Coca Cola from Pepsi Cola,2also tell people whether they should drink water or not.

    When people3liquid(液体) into this smart cup, a few seconds(秒) later, it can check this kind of liquid and tell them what it is. Then it gives4information of the drink, such as sugar, fat and calorie. When people put the cup in their5, it can also show them the condition of their bodies. A Parrot's Joke

Sally's parrot Bongo didn't get along with her o{#blank#}2{#/blank#} parrot, Paco. In fact, Bongo clearly didn't like Paco at all! One day, Sally cooked a chicken for dinner. She started to cut the chicken with a knife.
