According to a new American study, having dinner with children may help to reduce (减少) the number of problems that develop in parent—child communication. The1was done among about 5, 000 middle school students in Chicago public schools.

    The students were studied at the beginning and the end of the sixth grade and again at the end of the seventh and the eighth grade. They were asked2they ate dinner with their parents. They were 3 asked how often their parents had a conversation(谈话)with them that lasted more than 104, praised(表扬) them when they did well, asked them where they were going and asked how they were doing in school. The study5the more parent—child communication, the6problems between them.

    Family meals are a good opportunity to7in touch with children, said Jayne Fulkerson, a member of the study team. "You can get to know8going on in their life better."

    However, Fulkerson also suggested that parents9suitable(合适的) topics(话题). Topics10grades and homework are not good choice.

We are often warned by our teacher not to waste precious (宝贵的)time, because time lost will never return. I think it quite true. What does time look like?  {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. Time is abstract (抽象的), so we have to think about it.

Time passes very quickly. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}.  It is because they don't know how to make use of their time. They waste it in going to theatres, cinemas and parks, and doing other things. Why do we study every day? Why do we work? Why do most people would rather take buses instead of walking? The answer is very simple. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}.

Today we are living in the 21st century. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. When a person dies, his life ends. Since life is short, we must devote our time and energy to our study so that we may be able to serve the people well in the future. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}, for it does not only bring us failure but also does us other harm. If it is necessary for us to do our work today, let us do it today and not leave it until tomorrow.

How can the inventors do all of this? One of the answers is that they know how to study. {#blank#}8{#/blank#}  fact, a lot of things are not learnt in the classroom. They get a lot of knowledge by {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (read) outside school. They work hard and never give up all {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (they)lives.

Since the Ministry of Education put forward (提出) the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} of labor education (劳动教育), many parents have made their children do chores around the house. For some families, teaching children what to do and how to do chores {#blank#}2{#/blank#} easy. But in {#blank#}3{#/blank#} families, getting children to do some housework can be a very big problem.

It is a good idea for parents {#blank#}4{#/blank#} their children at an early age. All family members must work together to make the house {#blank#}5{#/blank#}, and each person must {#blank#}6{#/blank#} his or her share (份) of the work. We can do this by starting a plan for chores and responsibilities {#blank#}7{#/blank#} children are young.

Chores are {#blank#}8{#/blank#} for children-even very young ones. Doing chores teaches {#blank#}9{#/blank#} many important skills (技能) such as working together and being responsible (可靠的). Doing chores also teaches children what {#blank#}10{#/blank#} is. The skills and values (价值) from doing chores will do good to children all {#blank#}11{#/blank#} lives.

In the warm waters near an island, a small group of dolphins comes up for air. The dolphin in the front is Mother Dolphin.

Mother Dolphin will 1 Baby Dolphins for a long time. She'll stay beside her babies until they grow up. Baby Dolphins are very playful. They can swim well and love to push their mother softly. After playing so much, they get tired. At night, they 2 just below the surface of the water with Mother Dolphin.

Dolphins always travel in small groups to 5 themselves against their enemies, like the shark. They can live for many years. Some dolphins live up to 35 years in the wild.

Life is made up of a mixture of good and bad, including many disappointments. I've found that what matters is to keep hope alive. Hope . {#blank#}1{#/blank#} us light in the dark and energy to keep going. 

I'm a coach and advisor(顾问). The other day, I {#blank#}2{#/blank#} by a reporter. He was writing an article about how  {#blank#}3{#/blank#} a job after being fired(解雇). We talked about many common skills and tasks, and then we hit the center of the topic. "It's important not to lose  {#blank#}4{#/blank#} and to stay positive(积极的). It's important to build supporting systems to help keep hope alive. "I  {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. "People have to be hopeful about {#blank#}6{#/blank#} they may face in hard times. A positive attitude(态度) can help {#blank#}7{#/blank#} get through the challenge of looking for jobs. "

I have seen people who could have {#blank#}8{#/blank#} walked away in face of challenges, holding onto their hope and finding a way out of their trouble. However, I have also seen others who get lost in their {#blank#}9{#/blank#} and are broken down by the disappointments and challenges they face on their way.
