If you are hungry, what do you do? Have your favorite meal and stay quiet after that. Just like your stomach, your mind is also hungry. But it never lets you know.     My neighbor is a doctor. He and his wife are some of the1people I have ever met. A few years ago, we started this kind of "favor war" where one of us would do something kind for the other, such as2the driveway or building a shed, and next time the other would3to top it with another favor.

    Yesterday morning, it snowed heavily and I remembered he shoveled (铲) my driveway for me. So I took out my shovel and took care of both our driveways and sidewalks because it was my turn to do a favor4. It took a while but I finished it and got into my car for work.

That night I got a5on my door, it was my neighbor. He immediately shook my hands and thanked me for shoveling his driveway and sidewalk, so that he was able to get to work earlier and6a boy.

    Gary and Gavin were twin brothers who worked in a store owned by their father. After the father had passed away, they took over the store.     One day, a strange man came to the store. He walked in and asked Gary, "How long have you been here?" Gary replied that he'd been there all his life. "Then you are the person I'm looking for," the man said. "Twenty years ago, I was totally broke and hungry. I entered this store from the back door and saw a twenty-dollar bill on the cash register. And I took it. All these years I haven't been able to forget that. I had to come back and apologize for that.

    The stranger felt shocked when seeing tears well up in the eyes of the middle-aged man in front of him. "Would you please go next door and tell the same story to the man in the store?" Gary asked. Then something surprised the stranger even more--after hearing his story, the two middle-aged men hugged each other and cried together in the front of the wall of the store.

    After twenty years, the wall that separated them finally came down.

Jack's friend Sally isn't fine these days.

One day she asks Jack for help. And she tells(告诉)Jack about her food. For breakfast. She always eats some bread. For lunch, she always has some chicken. She likes eating ice-cream and a hamburger in the evening. 

"They're not healthy for you, Sally," Jack says. "I know, but I like them," Sally says. "What about vegetables? Do you like eating carrots?" Jack asks. "No, I don't," Sally says.

In the next days, Sally always eats vegetables and fruit. And she is well now.
