①The scientific method is used for simple experiments that students may do in the classroom or very difficult experiments that scientists are doing all over the world. It is a way of thinking that helps you to avoid drawing incorrect conclusions (结论). There are usually four steps in the scientific method, including observation (观察), hypothesis(假设), experiment, and conclusion.

②The steps may not always be completed in the same order, but the first step is usually observation and asking a question about your observation. For example, you had a sick stomach, and ate a candy bar. An hour later, you observed that you felt much better. Here, you can ask a question, such as, "What makes a sick stomach feel better?"

③The second step is to state a possible answer to the question, or a hypothesis, such as "    ▲ " A good hypothesis includes three things: The explanation for the observations, it is able to be tested, and it will usually predict new results or conclusions. 

④The third step is the experiment, to test the hypothesis. An experiment is a test which will either challenge or support the hypothesis. The hypothesis will then be true or false.

⑤The final step is to think about what happened when you tested the hypothesis and draw a conclusion. The conclusion will either clearly support the hypothesis or it will not. If the results support the hypothesis, a conclusion can be written and you can share it with the rest of the world. If it does not support the hypothesis, you may choose to change the hypothesis or write a new one based on what was learned during the experiment.

September 28th is Good Neighbor* Day. Do you want to be a good neighbor? And what can you do to make the neighborhood a great place? Remember, it's never too late if we start with some new habits.

Stop and talk. You can do one thing to be a good neighbor—stop and talk with your neighbor. Say hello, talk about the weather, or talk about their pet dogs.

Don't be noisy. It's OK for you to watch TV or listen to music at your home in the late evening. But you need to turn them down*. And if you don't live on the first floor, do not play basketball or dance in the house.

Be helpful. Good neighbors are always happy to help each other. If you are free, you can help the old in the neighborhood do some cleaning. If you are good at playing a ball game, you can teach some children in the neighborhood how to play it.

The following students are new in Fairlands Middle school. This week, they send letters to the school newspaper. 

Lhamo Yudron was born into a family of Tibetan embroiderers (藏族刺绣工). When she was young, she had the chance to learn Tibetan embroidery from her elders.

In 2006, Lhamo Yudron started to work at her father's Tibetan embroidery company. She worked hard to improve the {#blank#}1{#/blank#}（样式）of traditional Tibetan embroidery to make more people like it. Lhamo Yudron set up her own Tibetan embroidery company in 2009 with the {#blank#}2{#/blank#}（支持）of her family. She was always serious about her work. She traveled to cities like Beijing and Suzhou in search of different {#blank#}3{#/blank#}（材料）.She also traveled around China as well as to {#blank#}4{#/blank#}（亚洲的） countries like Thailand and Nepal to exhibit（展览）Tibetan embroidery. In 2021，Tibetan embroidery was {#blank#}5{#/blank#}（列清单）into the National Intangible Cultural Heritage（国家级非物质文化遗产）. 

Nowadays, the {#blank#}6{#/blank#}（产品）from Lhamo Yudron's company have made her way to Beijing, Jiangsu and Zhejiang. They have become popular with people there. Lhamo Yudron also encourages more {#blank#}7{#/blank#}（当地的） people in her hometown to learn Tibetan embroidery. So far，her company has given training and offered jobs to more than 1,000 people. She often says she takes {#blank#}8{#/blank#}（骄傲） in helping them find jobs.

Now she is still working hard to {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（传播） the influence of Tibetan embroidery. Many people think that Tibetan culture is so {#blank#}10{#/blank#}（宝贵的） that it is necessary for them to learn something about it.
