The world is divided(分割)into two important parts. One half of the world is rich and1half is poor. In the poor, part, a lot of people never get2. In the rich part, a lot of people eat too much. In one part, children are hungry and in the other, a lot of people are fatter and fatter and have to go on diets or3some exercises in order to lose weight.

The poor countries have some difficult problems. Sometimes the land(大地)is too poor4. The land can be got or made5, but a lot of things must be done at first. The people must be6and water must be found.

But rich countries have problems, too. Sometimes the air is too dirty to breathe and the rivers are too dirty to swim in or to7. The roads and streets8people and buses. Noise is terrible. A lot of people do not have houses to live in. Some things will have to be done about these problems. The air and the rivers must be9, and more houses will have10. But these can't be done easily.

However, more work should be done. First, we should value the {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(story) behind festivals and keep them for our children. Second, the guidance of the government is important. Now we have vacation days during traditional festivals, which help people notice the festivals.

When I was a student, life gave me a gift—happiness.

One weekend, a car ran over me and hurt my 1 on my way home. Several days later, when I woke up in the2 , I knew that I had to spend the rest of my life without arms. I felt 3 at that time. I was scared, but I knew that I had to face the fact. I couldn't get my arms back even if I 4 every day.

As a little girl when I heard my sister talk about her life-changing term abroad in Paris, it became my goal to visit it one day. When my daily life in New Jersey seemed boring, I often 1 about walking around the streets of Paris. Luckily, with our financial (财务的) situation2 , European travel became a reality. 

Travelling to a European country with my3  was exciting, but it would not be complete without facing problems and figuring them out.

④      ▲      . Some dogs, for example, may bite others, and children may become afraid of animals as a result of this happening to them. Cats also look very soft but they do have very sharp claws(爪子). If they are treated in the wrong ways. cats can use their claws to scratch ln addition, pets require a great deal of care. Many pets need to be regularly groomed, exercised and bathed. As a result of this, children may neglect their studies because they are too busy worrying about their pet and its well-being.

⑤ A further argument against pet ownership is that pets are costly; buying food and maintaining their care is expensive. Finally, the cost of owning one falls on parents, and as a result, children don't fully understand the responsibility of having one.

⑥ In short, there are many arguments for and against pet ownership. Pets help to keep children company, fit, and they also help them to learn new responsibilities. However, pets can be dangerous, they require a lot of care, and they cost a lot of money to be taken care of properly.

 Thomas was diagnosed(诊断) a serious illness. He was so sad and hoped that he refused any medical treatment. You didn't want to be a burden(负担) of his family.
