广东省深圳市福田区外国语学校2024-2025学年九年级上学期开学考英语试题

 阅读下列短文,从每小题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。

Primary school students in Changsha, Hunan Province, have started to learn the Changsha dialect (方言) in a course for them to choose which was newly offered this term.

More than 20 third-grade students from a local primary school have signed up for the course. Many language professors at some major universities in Hunan are teaching it.

Besides the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, students will also get knowledge about the idioms, nursery rhymes (童谣) , figures of speech and culture behind the dialect, according to Luo Xinru, Chinese language professor at Hunan Normal University and one of the teachers of the course.

As our country has spent a lot of energy promoting standard Mandarin (标准普通话) , lots of young children have not learned how to speak local dialects, she said. That's why the country has started to protect different language resources in recent years, she added.

The Ministry of Education carried out the National Language Resource Protection Project in 2015 to do some surveys and better protect its language resources. Our country has set up the largest language resource center in the world, according to the ministry.

Luo said promoting Mandarin and using dialects are not contradictory and children have the ability to speak them at the same time.

"Dialect protection is very important and different dialects which carry different cultures and values should not and will not disappear," she said. "We do not expect all children taking the course to learn perfect Changsha dialect, but they should understand the importance of different dialects and perhaps be willing to dive into the research and protection of them as they grow older."

(1)、What can we know from the first two paragraphs?
A、The dialect course is taught by some language experts. B、This school has offered the dialect course as a tradition. C、Students have to take the dialect course as it's required. D、Twenty third-graders have taken part in this dialect course
(2)、What can students probably learn in dialect classes?
A、What the idiom "let the cat of the bag" means. B、How to sing the song Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. C、How to compare one thing to another in Mandarin. D、Idioms only known to elder native Changsha people.
(3)、Why has China started protecting language resources?
A、To support the largest language resource center B、To help young kids learn to speak local dialects. C、To speed up the promotion of standard mandarin D、To carry out more surveys about dialect protection.
(4)、Which word can best replace the underlined word contradictory in Paragraph 6?
A、practical B、reasonable C、impossible D、unnecessary
(5)、What is the best title of this article?
A、More local dialects and less Standard Mandarin. B、Changsha dialect courses help culture survive. C、The importance of teaching different dialects. D、Language professors protect language resources.

My name is Robinson Crusoe, and I was born in the city of York in 1632. My father was a successful businessman. I had two elder brothers. One of them worked in the army(军队) and was killed during the war against Spain. The other was missing one day, and we never knew what had happened to him. My father gave me a good education and wanted me to be a lawyer(律师).

However, I wanted to be a sailor(海员) and go to sea. My father was very angry with me. He didn't understand why I wanted to leave his house, where I would have an easy and comfortable life.

"Two kinds of people go to sea, " he said. "They are the very poor people and the very rich people. The poor are foolish, having no other ways to live. The rich own ships and can make money with them. You are neither too poor nor too rich, so you should stay at home with your mother and me. Your elder brother didn't listen to me, and now he is dead. If you do not listen to me, you will have a difficult life!"

I tried to do what he wanted me to do, but I couldn't. I spoke to my mother.

"Please ask Dad if he will let me have one voyage(航行) by sea, " I asked her. "When I return, I will live the life he wants me to live. "

Mum was angry. "Your father will not let you go. I don't want you to go to sea either. It's dangerous. "

I argued(争吵) with my parents for another year. Then, I went to Hull with a friend who was going to London by ship. He invited me to go with him, and I agreed. I didn't even tell my parents before leaving. I just went. That was how all my bad luck began.

 阅读下列材料,从每题所给的A、B、C三个选项中,选出最佳选项。

China is trying to get an international certification(认证) for Pao Cai. It's a vegetable dish from Sichuan. But some other countries have different ideas about it.

The disagreement(分歧) is between Chinese and South Korean Internet users. Kimchi is a usual Korean food made of cabbage, just like Chinese Pao Cai. Chinese and Koreans both think the vegetable dish comes from their own country.

China recently got a certification from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for Pao Cai. South Koreans quickly disagreed, especially on the Internet.

"It's really wrong, Kimchi is a part of our culture," a South Korean Internet user wrote on Naver.com. "I read a story that China now says Kimchi is theirs, and that they are making an international standard(标准) for it. I'm worried that they might take away Hanbok and other cultural symbols, not just Kimchi," said Kim Seol-ha, a 28-year-old in Seoul.

On China's Weibo, Chinese Internet users were describing Kimchi as one kind of Chinese Pao Cai. "Even the name of Kimchi came from Chinese, what else is there to say," one wrote on Weibo.

South Korea's agriculture ministry(农业部) on Sunday said that the ISO's standard is different from that to make Kimchi. "It is not right to report that Pao Cai wins the ISO without differentiating Kimchi from Pao Cai of Sichuan," it said.
