Great inventions change the world. They help people live {#blank#}1{#/blank#}better life. The wheel is perhaps the {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(great) invention in history. After its invention, travelling became faster and {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(comfortable). Without the wheel, we would not have carriages, trains and {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(car). In 1867, the telephone, one of the most {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(practice) inventions, was invented. Alexander Graham Bell was its {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(invent). Since then, people {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(be) able to speak to each other over long distances. Mobile phones allow people to keep in touch {#blank#}8{#/blank#}each other anytime, anywhere. Thomas Edison {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(develop) the practical light bulb in 1879. With light bulbs, people can do as many things in the evenings {#blank#}10{#/blank#}they can in the daytime.

    At the age of nine, I was taking swimming lessons at a pool. One day, there was a test to see if I could reach a {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (high) level than before.

    Fifteen of us were asked to take {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (turn) to swim from one side of the pool to the other. I watched my classmates tried and {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (fail) one by one. I was the {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (twelve) person to swim. W{#blank#}5{#/blank#} it was my turn, I was very nervous. It was about halfway that I got choked (呛水). I immediately stopped and caught the side of the pool. I ended my test. Our instructor, (教练) a college student, was standing next to  {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (I). "Why did you stop?" he shouted {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (angry). "I got water in my nose," I explained.

    {#blank#}8{#/blank#} instructor said that as soon as you met a few difficulties, you gave up trying your dream. How could you become successful? You must learn to overcome the difficulties in your life. Only {#blank#}9{#/blank#} this way, can you r{#blank#}10{#/blank#} your dream. From then on, I decided to face everything bravely.

    All passengers must arrive at the airport two hours before the departure time. You have much time to check everything. If you have never been to another country, don't forget to take your passports, air tickets and your suitcases with you.

    Have you got your boarding card(登机牌) yet? You must get it as soon as you arrive at the airport. Have you checked your suitcases and put name tags on them?

    If the suitcases are too heavy, you can find a trolley(推车). Have you exchanged(兑换) some US dollars? If not, there are a few banks at the airport.

    You can also have a meal at a restaurant before boarding. When you want to go upstairs, you can take the escalator.
