With devices (设备) that can be conveniently (便利地) controlled from anywhere, a smart home offers convenience to its owners. These devices can be connected with each other through the Internet, allowing the user to control functions, such as security access (安全访问), lighting and temperature. 

"Haitangxiaozhen", an Internet user from Xuzhou, Jiangsu, shared his experience of setting up a smart home. He first bought the service of "intelligent networking". It can be extended (延伸) to every room. He then can use an app to control various smart home devices. 

He said that he usually got off work late, ____. But now, cooked rice waits for him at home because he can turn on the rice cooker with his phone in advance. During summer, he usually turns on the air conditioner 30 minutes before getting home. He can also check the security camera at the door anytime through his phone in case he forgets whether he has locked the door or not. It's very convenient for him. 

During winter and summer holidays, when his child was alone at home, he used to worry about safety problems. For this reason, he specially installed a smart camera. With it, he can check if his child is OK at any time. His home also has a kitchen safety set, including smoke sensors (传感器), gas sensors and water sensors. 

And these devices are really smart. They come with self-learning skills so they can learn the home owner's timetables and make changes as needed. 

All these conveniences are making smart homes more and more popular both in China and around the world.

My parents have always said they felt uncomfortable traveling by train when they were my age. When they talk about the crowded and airless rain carriages(车厢), I just always can't imagine how it feels to travel by train like that. 

However, train travel is quite a different experience today and the train service has improved greatly, especially when the high-speed rail (HSR)service has been widely out into use in China. HSR refers to(指)any railway in China with a speed of 250 km/h or higher. The high-speed rail has experienced rapid development since our country started to run its first high-speed train between Beijing and Tianjin in 2008. The environment in the high-speed trains is the same as that in an airplane. Now the high-speed rail in China is really fast, convenient and comfortable

Recently, Chinese people have become known for their speed of developing and making changes. Such a high speed is known as China Speed. The development of the high-speed rail has let me realize what China Speed is. However, China Speed means a lot more. We've seen so many tall buildings show up almost overnight. It took us only several tens of years to go from the difficulty of traveling to roads and highways connecting every comer. Mobile phones with 5G technology show more and more importance in everyone's life. China Speed has made a difference to our country and even the world. 

But as we enjoy China Speed, we should also be serious about the problems it has brought to us, such as environmental pollution and the imbalance(不平衡)of development. It is our responsibility to bring China a better future.

For example, if you feel nervous during an exam, try to imagine that you are a Spider-Man. You may find that you can "remove" the stress from this situation and feel more confident. This can help keep you fight off bad feelings and focus on your task, just like a superhero would. Pretending to be a superhero makes us feel powerful and that will have an influence on how we act in real life.

But you don't have to always choose a superhero like Spider-man. Anyone you admire can encourage you to get through hard times, or remind you of how you should act in certain situations. Favorite stars, famous painters, even our own parents—anyone can be our "Spider-Man". For example, when it comes to how I communicate with others, I like to look toward my mom for inspiration. She is a middle school teacher who is always kind, thoughtful and brave. I try to act the same way like her.

There have been many great inventions or things that change the way we live. The first great invention is the one that is still very important today—the wheel. This makes it easier to carry heavy things and to travel long distances.

For hundreds of years after that there were few inventions that as much effect as the wheel. Then in the early 1800s the world started to change. There was little unknown land left in the world. People didn't have to explore much any more. They began to work in order to make life better.

In the second half of the 19th century, many great inventions were made. Among them were the camera, the light and the radio. These all play a big part in our daily life today.

The first part of the 20th century saw more great inventions. The helicopter in 1909, movies with sound in 1926, the computer in 1928, jet planes in 1930. It was also a time when a new material was first made—Nylon (尼龙)，which came out in 1935. It changed the kind of clothes people wore.

The middle part of the 20th century brought new ways to help people get over diseases. They worked very well. They made people healthier and allowed them to live longer. By the 1960s most people could expect to live to be at least 60. 

By this time most people in developed countries had a very good life. Of course new inventions continued to be made. But man now had a desire (渴望) to explore again. The Earth was known to man but stars were not. Man began looking for ways to go into space. Russia, United States, China and Japan have made their own steps into space.

In 1969, man took his biggest step away from the Earth. Americans first walked on the Moon. This is certainly just a beginning, though. New inventions will some day allow us to do things we have never yet dreamt of.
