Good basic table manners are important because they help make sure that both guests and hosts are comfortable at the table. Table manners are mostly common sense. Here are some rules that will carry you through most common situations.
{#blank#}1{#/blank#} You may have heard your mother say it many times. You should know that no one likes to see the food in your mouth.

Eat food bit by bít. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Don't cut all of your meat at one time. This can remind
people of feeding small children and the mess related to this situation.
Eat at a leisurely pace(悠闲地). This rule shows your host that you enjoy the food and the company (陪伴). {#blank#}3{#/blank#} It shows that you're only paying attention to the food and that you would rather be at home watching the grass grow than spend the time with your host.

Don't forget "please" and "thank you". These are useful words in most situations and especially important at the table.

Compliment(称赞) the cook. Even if the food is terrible, say something nice. It is always pleasant to end a meal in a positive way.
A. Excuse yourself when leaving the table. B. Don't speak with your mouth full of food. C. Eating quickly is a sign of disrespect for the host. D. You'd better not put your elbows on the dinner table. E. It is as impolite as standing in front of a TV with other people behind you. F. Cut meat and salad so that part of them don't stay out of your mouth after you put them in. |

I'm from the UK. At my school, sports can be very relaxing. You don't have to go to a 40-minute class each week. Instead, we get to pick when we want to play sports. Also, there is a great number of sports to choose from, so everyone can find something they enjoy. We can take lessons in swimming, rock climbing, dancing, soccer and badminton. We don't have exams for sports☺ . What are PE classes like in your country? posted on May 15th at 19:50 post a comment |
At my school, we have a few units (单元) about sports and exercise to learn about. During each unit, we practice key skills for the sport. For example, for basketball, we practice passing and shooting. At the end of each unit, we have a test. For tennis, we spend the whole unit passing the ball to each other. So for the test, we need to pass it at least 10 times without stopping to get a score of 100. Antonio, Mexico |
In my school, every afternoon from 3:30 to 5 pm is PE time. In PE classes, students usually just do practice, like running in the gym and more. However, people in the US love sports a lot. Sports team training is another kind of PE. Every school has its own sports teams, for example, American football, baseball, basketball, tennis and much more. All the teams compete in the city or the state. Every team has their schedule, but they usually train until 5 pm every day. Ann, the USA |
