Lastnight I was preparing for the coming examination when I heard loud noise frommy neighbor's house. The1wenton and on. It was2loudthat I could hardly pay attention to my study any longer. So I went to myneighbor's house and knocked at the door. The young man looked3when he4 me standing outside his door.

Isaid to him: "5,could you please turn down the TV? I'm preparing6tomorrow's exam."7he heard these words, hisface turned red. And he said politely, "I'm sorry to have made so muchnoise. Just now, the football game was very wonderful.I was too excited to control8. I won't bother（打扰）you again.9 in yourcoming exam." Then, he10 the TV and continued to watchthe game. After that, I got down to my study.

It's well-known that silk was discovered in China. It's wonderfully strong, light and soft. As one of the best materials for clothes, silk has a perfect look and feel that no other materials can match. 

There is a story about how silk was discovered. Lei Zu, the wife of Huang Di, was having tea under a mulberry tree when a silkworm cocoon(蚕茧)fell into her cup. As she tried to take the cocoon out, it started to unwind(展开)and the "line" seemed endless. She realized that the strong line could be used to make clothes. Then Lei Zu taught her people how to raise silkworms and how to get silk In this way, the silk industry was born. 

For hundreds of years after that, silk was only used by rich people. It was a symbol of identity and status(身份和地位). With the development of the silk industry, more silk was produced. It was no longer just for rich people. In the Han Dynasty, silk was transported as far away as Spain, Rome and many other counties. The trade road was famously known as the Silk Road, which connected China with the rest of the world

Today, silk can be used for many kinds of things, not just for clothes, bus also for paintings, writing brushes, kites and even fishing nets. Wherever silk goes around the world, it is always warmly received. 

Poems for Children is a book of poems. These poems were chosen by the poet Julie Waters and they carry children on a wonderful journey of poetry.

 The red panda is a cute and interesting animal. It is small and has reddish- brown fur(皮毛). The red panda lives in the mountain s of China. It likes to climb trees and is very good at it. It has a big tail and the tail helps to keep balanced (平衡的) when it climbs.

 The red panda eats bamboo, just like the black and white panda. It also eats fruits and eggs. It has sharp teeth to help it catch its food. The red panda goes out at night and sleeps during the day. It is a solitary animal and it does not like to be around other red pandas.

 Sadly, the red panda is in danger(濒危) now. The red pandas lose their homes and sometimes can't find food because people cut down trees for farming. Also, many people kill(杀) red pandas for their beautiful fur.

 The red panda is a special and beautiful animal. We all should try our best to help them.

 My home town is Moonlight Town. It is close to Sunshine Town. There is1 river in front of my house. In the past, there were many factories by the river. They often put the waste into the river. 2 the clean water became very dirty. And people cut down too many trees 3 more space for tall buildings. Many animals lost4 living areas. Also, people in other places could only walk to my home town because the traffic was not easy. 

 But now, great changes5 because the government has paid attention to the problems and done something to improve the situation. First, factories no longer put the waste into the river. The water is clean. People can sit 6 the river to watch many kinds of fish swim in it again. Second, the government turns a factory into a beautiful park so people 7 relax in it. Third, thousands of trees8 on the mountain. They are becoming homes to many wild animals. Last, it's fast and easy for people to visit my home town by car or bus. 9 great changes!

I believe my home town will be 10 in the future than now. I'm looking forward to it.
