There are many ways for us to reduce waste. For example, we can reuse paper and plastic bags. We can also recycle newspapers, glass, and cans (易拉罐) make new things. Here are some useful ways to reduce waste.

    ◆Write on both sides of paper. Many people write on only one side of their paper. Why not stop wasting the other side? Some students only use half the pages of their notebooks before getting new ones. Try to use up all the paper. People often give cards on birthdays or festivals. How about trying to send e-cards instead?

    ◆Don' t throw away your old batteries. Maybe you do not know that old batteries make the Earth dirty. This is because they have poisonous parts. So, don't throw away batteries. Keep them together. Try to use rechargeable (可充电的) batteries for your game machines and CD players.

    ◆Donate (捐赠) all your unwanted clothes. There are many poor families in China, You may ask your mother to collect your unwanted clothes. Then you can pass them on to those poor children who do not have clothes to wear. You will feel happy that you are helping someone else. Also, you can ask if your friends or relatives want them before throwing them away.

①Japan's population is rapidly aging, with 28 percent of its people aged 65 or older. This means there aren't enough young people doing jobs that need physical strength (力量) like building things and farming.

②To encourage older people to work on, technology companies in Japan have developed special suits called exoskeleton (外骨骼). These suits can make it easier to lift and carry heavy objects.

③"We have no choice, elderly people need to stay in the workplace," says Daigo Orihara at Innophys. This company has made a suit called the Every Muscle Suit. It's light, weighing less than 4 kg. It doesn't need any batteries (电池) or motors (发动机). When users put it on like a backpack, they pump (抽气) air into it 30 times with a hand pump. Then, the suit can help them lift up to 25 kg easily. The suit costs about 1000 pounds and is used by food companies to help worker lift big boxes, by old people's homes to help workers lift people in and out of bed, as well as by food factories and building companies.

④Another company, Panasonic, is also developing different exoskeleton suits. Its most important one—the Atoun Model Y—costs 4200 pounds. It uses motors instead of air to work and can last for 8 hours. It weighs 4.5 kg and can help users lift up to 10 kg.

⑤Similarly, Japanese company JTEKT, part of the Toyota group, also began selling an exoskeleton. It's used to help older workers and also runs on a motor.

⑥As Japan is facing the problems of fewer and fewer workers, they may need to raise the age when people stop working. This means there will be even more need for exoskeleton to help older people keep working.

 During the third and fourth weeks it looked like a change in Charles. Laurie reported kindlessly," Charles was so good today the teacher gave him an apple." " What?" I said, and my husband added unbelievably," You mean Charles?" " Charles, Laurie said." He gave the crayons around and picked up the books and the teacher said he was her helper." zksq620

" Can this be true, about Charles?" I asked my husband." Can something like this happen?" " Wait and see," my husband said cynically*. Within a week, everything was back to normal and Charles was his usual, terrible self.

" The Parent meeting's next week," I told my husband one evening." I'm going to find Charles's mother there." " Ask her what happened to Charles," my husband said." I'd like to know." " I'd like to know myself'I said.

 At the meeting, I looked over the faces of all the other mothers. None of them looked unhappy enough to be the mother of Charles. No one stood up and apologised for the way her son had been acting.

 After the meeting, I found Laurie's teacher." I' ve been wanting to meet you," I said." I'm Laurie's mother." " Oh, yes," she said." We' re all so interested in Laurie." " He certainly likes kindergarten" I said." He talks about it all the time." " He's had some trouble getting used to school," she said." But I think he' ll be all right." " Laurie usually fits in quickly, I said." I suppose his trouble might be from Charles' influence." " Charles? the teacher said." Yes, I said, laughing." You must have your hands full with Charles." " Charles?" she said." We    don't    have    any    Charles    in    kindergarten." 

When people talk about Disney cartoon characters, they often think of Donald Duck(唐老鸭). Donald Duck is a white duck with a yellow-orange mouth. He usually wears a sailor shirt, a cap and a red or black bow tic(蝶形领结), but no trousers at all. 

Donald Duck was born on 9 June, 1934. He is the oldest duck in the world. He is very funny. He makes a lot of people laugh again and again. Children around the world all like him. 

Domald Duck first appears in the cartoon The Wise Litle Hen. The little hen works very hard. But Donald Duck and his friend Peter Pig do not want to work. Then the little hen gives them a lesson. She tells them that work is important. 

Donald Duck is like a common man in a big world. He is kind-hearted. He wants to help others. But things always go wrong. He doesn't like it. He gets angry easily. Then his girlfriend Daisy comes to help him. So he tries it again. He thinks there must be a better way to do things. But he does not know another way. 

 Elephants are very special animals. They are very smart and have different emotions(情感), such as happiness and sadness. They can even cry. Elephants can learn many things, and in some countries, people let them carry heavy things.

 There are two kinds of elephants: African and Asian elephants. African elephants are usually larger and they can be 7,000 kilos or more. All elephants like eating different kinds of plants, such as grass, leaves and vegetables. They eat a lot-up to(多达)300 kilos a day. They can live for about 60 years.

 Unluckily, the number of wild elephants is going down. Many people kill(杀死) them mainly for their tusks-the long pointed(尖的) teeth. Now more and more people try to protect them.
