Four students were invited to an interview by the local English newspaper to share their opinions on after-class activities. The following is what they said in the interview. |
Mary: In our school, after-class activities are very popular. Students in our school enjoy many different kinds of after-class activities, such as the English corner, swimming, playing the piano and singing. I take part in the chess club. I play with other club members after class every day. |
Erin: I'm a member of the music club in our school. I can learn different kinds of music instruments, including the violin, the piano, the guitar and so on. I like playing the piano best. It's very interesting. |
John: I take part in the poem club after class. I have learned a lot from the activities which are held by the club. I can not only improve my skills of poem writing, but also make a lot of new friends who have the same hobbies. |
Peter: Some teachers think after-class activities take up too much time. In their opinions, we are already under great pressure with so much homework to do. But I think it's necessary for schools to provide us with a chance to develop our other skills besides what we are taught in class. What's more, after-class activities help us relax. |

I put on my own vest and rushed out of the house {#blank#}6{#/blank#} my mother could stop me.
Later, my mother shared her bad feelings with my father. "See what your son has done," she said. Instead of saying he would punish me, my father {#blank#}7{#/blank#} asked my mother to mend (缝补) the vest.
