Do you have true friends? Do you want to know better between you and your friends? There are three different kinds of friends: "pest friends", "guest friends", and "best friends".

The first kind of friends is simply acquaintances (熟人), and all you usually know about them is their names. You may meet this kind of friends at school, at work, or on the bus, but you don't miss them when they're not around. When this kind of friends do something bad, you don't tell them. That is why they are called "pest friends".

The second kind of friends could also be called "social partners". They are closer than acquaintances, but not as close as true friends. You know their names, a little about what they like or dislike, and a little about their family histories; you usually have a few things in common, but you don't talk about anything deep, such as your wishes or fears, and they don't open up to you how they really feel.

The last kind of friends, the "best friends", are the people you know the deepest.

You're like family, and know everything about each other. You have no problem staying at each other's houses, and you share your deepest feelings and thoughts. They will correct you when you're wrong, and though they may not be perfect, they at least will always care about you, and never do anything on purpose (故意地) to hurt you.

We all have our pest, guest, and best friends. We should value (重视) all friendship. Remember, all best friends start out as just acquaintances.

This week is the English Week, and it is an excellent time to think about how you can improve your English. Of course, every day in school, you have chances to improve your English: through reading, writing, speaking and listening. But I want to talk about learning English outside the school.

In Hong Kong, there are chances all around you to improve your English. There are many people living here whose first language is English. When you hear people speaking English, you should use your skills learned at school to try to understand them. You may even be brave enough to try talking to them. Hong Kong also has many English language media: books, newspapers, movies and television. You should make the best use of these chances to read and listen to English.

Personally, I read a Chinese newspaper that has an English translation of some articles. When I am reading, I try to learn new English words and phrases. This method has helped me a lot. As a student, you should make your English language learning go beyond your school books. It should be a lifelong process. The chances are there for you, so make sure you take them.

It was a morning in June in Datong, Shanxi Province. Along the 1 , people were on their way to work. Suddenly, sweet music was 2 around the street. A woman wearing the 3 of a city cleaner was sitting on the street corner playing the saxophone (萨克斯管) . Beside her sat a beggar, eating noodles 4 a big smile on his face. 

Jia Fengxia first 5 the beggar in August 2011, when she was picking up plastic bottles along the street. The man saw Jia and passed 6 an empty bottle without speaking. Jia was very 7 and thought the man was kind. 

"He is always 8 food in wastes, " Jia said. "I was sad when I 9 saw that. " She always saw the man while doing her 10 , and began to think about how she could help him. 

The next time she saw him, Jia 11 him some noodles and sausage (香肠) . She also brought her saxophone. 12 the man was enjoying the food, Jia sat next to him, playing old songs on her saxophone. In March 2013, a local reporter took a 13 of Jia sitting next to the beggar playing the saxophone and posted the story on the Internet. 

The photo received great attention because the pair looked so 14 sitting on the street corner, wearing simple clothes. Many people praised Jia for helping those in need, calling her "The Most 15 Cleaner" in China. 

What colour is the sea? It's blue. What colour is the grass? It's green. What colour are the strawberries? They're red. Everything in the world has its colour. Our art teacher tells us that red, blue and green are three primary colours (三原色) if we put red and green together, we can get yellow; if we put red and blue together, we can get purple. We all live in a colourful world.

Different colours can give us different feelings and different colours have different meanings. The same colour also has different meanings in different places. In China, people like red very much because we think red can bring good luck (好运) to us. But in some European countries, it means anger (愤怒). In most countries in the world, people like green, but people from England and Japan don't like it. In Australia, people think that black cats can bring them good luck, but in America, people think the white cat is a lucky cat.
