My pen pal John is a school boy. He is from the USA and he is 13 years old. This is his room. Let's have a look. His computer is on the desk. And a telephone is on it, too. His books are everywhere. Some are on the shelf（书架）and some are on the ground. Look, what's that under the bed? Oh, it's one of his socks. Where's his schoolbag? It's near the bed. You can find a dictionary, a pencil box and a set of keys in it. Where is his hat? Can you find it?

When I was a child, watermelon (西瓜) was too expensive for my family. One of my father's friends, Bernie,was a rich businessman. He owned a large fruit store in another place.

Every summer, when the first watermelons arrived, Bernie would give us a call. My father and I would go to Bernie's place. We would sit on the dock (码头) happily and get ready for a big meal.

Bernie would take a big watermelon out, cut it up, give us both a big piece and sit down next to us. Then we three would put our faces into the watermelon, eating it happily.

In my father's eyes, Bernie was a real rich man. I always thought it was because he was a successful businessman. Later I learned that it was not Bernie's money that made my father think like that. My father thought he was rich because of the way he lived his life. Bernie knew when to stop working, get together with friends and enjoy his "watermelon".

When I grew up, because I was too busy making money as a doctor, I forgot the lesson I once learned on the dock. Well, now I've relearned it. Though (尽管) I'm still busy working as a doctor, I will try to slow down and take the time to enjoy the small pleasures (快乐) of my life.

Lao She was one of the greatest Chinese writers of the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} century. In 1913, his mother sent him to a teacher's school and he became a teacher. In 1924, he went to a college in London to teach Chinese. 5 years later, he {#blank#}2{#/blank#} to China. In his life, he wrote many plays,{#blank#}3{#/blank#} and short stories. In many of his works, he {#blank#}4{#/blank#} the lives of common people in China. He was named "the People's Artist". 

People built the Lao She Teahouse in Beijing according to (根据) his play Teahouse. You can enjoy the Beijing Opera, traditional music and magic shows there. It {#blank#}5{#/blank#}a warm welcome to everyone from all over the world. 

Once upon a time, there was a hunter who was proud of his skills. One day, he went to the mountains in search of his target（目标）. When he went into the forest, all the animals became afraid and ran away. Only the lion c{#blank#}1{#/blank#} him to fight. The hunter took out his arrow and launched it at once. He was so confident that he didn't choose the direction c{#blank#}2{#/blank#}. The arrow hit a bird in the tree i{#blank#}3{#/blank#}. Before the hunter r{#blank#}4{#/blank#} his mistake, the lion took the chance and launched attack. Luckily, the lion also missed his target by inches. After the a{#blank#}5{#/blank#}, the hunter never showed off his skills. 

Jessie is an eleven-year-old student in Star Primary School (小学). It is a big school with many trees and flowers. There are 220 teachers in it. Sixty classrooms are in the classroom building. And every class has 30 students.

Jessie likes her school very much. But she likes the music classroom best because it is very special. There are some desks in it, but there aren't any chairs. Guess where they sit! They sit on yoga balls. Sitting on yoga balls is so fun. All the students like it very much. In every classroom there are many pictures on the wall and there are many flowers in the front of the classroom. They make the classroom very beautiful.
