吉林省长春市朝阳区2020年九年级中考英语二模试卷

根据短文内容,判断正误.

One day, you open the fridge and find some moldy (发霉的) food. But before you can throw it away, your mother stops you. She doesn't want to waste food. She cuts off the moldy part and eats the rest. Is it safe to do this?

Mold (霉菌) can grow on almost all kinds of food. Mold is usually green, white, black or gray. Mold makes food soft and changes its color. Moldy food tastes quite bad and it's not safe to eat.

If you find mold in soft food, just throw it away. Soft food, such as bread, tomatoes and hot dogs, usually contain (包含) water. This allows mold to easily grow below its surface. Bacteria (细菌) also grows along with it.

But it's easy to remove mold from hard food. The mold can't grow very deeply inside this kind of food. According to the BBC, you should cut about 2.5 cm around and below the mold and remove it.

It's OK to cut the moldy parts out of hard, food and eat the rest. But if the food is completely covered with mold, you should still throw it away. Most kinds of mold are bad for us. But some kinds of mold can be used to make food. For example, penicillin(青霉菌) can be used to make many types of cheeses, such as blue cheese. These cheeses are safe to eat and they're quite delicious as well.

(1)、When you find the bread turns green, it means mold grows on it.
(2)、If you find mold on a tomato, you can cut the bad part and eat the rest.
(3)、From this passage, we know mold grows more deeply inside soft food than inside hard food.
(4)、You can eat hard food even if it is completely covered with mold.
(5)、It's safe to use a kind of mold, penicillin to make many types of cheeses.

You are running around in the park. But then suddenly,you fall and hurt yourself. "Ow!" you cry. This sound is very familiar to us all. Crying out when we get hurt is a natural reaction. But what is it about this sound that makes us shout it out?

Scientists from the National University of Singapore now believe they've found the answer. The effort of shouting the word "ow" actually interferes (干预) with pain messages traveling to the brain. So by shouting it out,it distracts us from the feeling of pain.

The scientists tested how long volunteers could hold their hands in very cold water. There were five rounds of the test. In the first round,they were allowed to shout "ow" when they felt pain. In another round,they had to stay silent.

The results showed that volunteers were able to keep their hands in the cold water for longer when they were allowed to shout out. They managed around 30 seconds on average,five seconds more than when they had to remain silent.

"We found that a simple vocal act such as saying 'ow' helps individuals deal with pain," the report from the scientists stated.

What's more, expressions of pain are shared among languages. While cries of "ow" or "ouch" are heard in English,South Africans yell "eina"

Scientists said in the report: "Shared among these languages is a sound during which the mouth simply opens, the tongue lies flat (水平的) and the lips unrounded. It is a simple sound that requires little control while maximizing (充分利用)

 请从方框内选择适当的词并用其正确形式填空,使文章完整连贯。注意每空一词,每词仅用一次,有两词为多余项。

 请阅读下面短文,根据所提供的信息,回答五个问题。要求所写答案语法正确、信息完整切题。

In the past, Life used to be fun for teenagers. They had lots of interests and they used to spend their spare time on them, like seeing a good film, going for a picnic or listening to music. But for many young people, life is difficult now. Jobs are difficult to find. It's hard to find a place to live in. Teachers say students have to work harder than they used to. They are less interested in how to spend their spare time and more interested in passing exams. They know that good exam results may help them get better jobs.

But teenagers often feel stressed because they have too much homework to do both at school and at home. They have lots of exams to take. They are so busy studying every day that they don't have their own time to do what they are interested in. Now more and more teenagers are getting short-- sighted (近视的) as they study too long every day. So they should think of ways to relax. They should make a plan for their studies and find time to relax as much as possible.

English Online made a survey on" The Ways for Students to Relax". Here are the results.

Some people think that watching TV is good. Some believe that hanging out with friends is a good way. Others think the best way to relax is to do sports.
