Some children are flying kites near the river. They are very high and Peter can see them in the classroom. After lunch his aunt comes to see his mother and brings a kite to him. It looks like a bird. He wants to fly it but his mother doesn't let him do so.

    "It's time to go to school. " says his mother. "You can play it after dinner. "The boy is unhappy, and says goodbye to his aunt and leaves. Now he is in the classroom but he doesn't listen to Miss Black. She writes something on the blackboard and then turns to the class and finds this.

    "Name nine things with milk in them, Peter. " she says. The boy doesn't hear her and still sits there. A boy in Row 4 taps his back and he understands it. He stands up and Miss Black asks him the question again. He thinks for some time and then says, "Yes, madam, tea, coffee, cake and… er…six cows. "

    Once upon a time, there were three little pigs. They left their parents to see the world. All summer long, they played games and made friends. No one was happier than the three little pigs. Soon autumn came and it began to rain. The three pigs started to think they needed a house. They talked about what to do, but they had different ideas. The laziest little pig said he would built a straw hut(茅草屋). "It will only take a day, "he said. The second little pig built a wooden(木头的)house. It took him two days. But the third little pig built a house with stones. It took him over a week.

    One day, a wolf came. He broke the straw hut easily, and the laziest pig ran to his brother's wooden house. The wolf followed him and broke the door of the wooden house. They had to run to their brother's stone house .The wolf was so angry that he couldn't break the stone house. He left at last. Then the three happy little pigs, dancing in front of the house, began to sing. After that, they all worked hard and built strong houses.

    Steven Jobs, the designer of Apple Computer, was not clever when he was in school. At that time, he was not a good student and he always made troubles with his schoolmates. When he went into college, he didn't change a lot. Then he dropped out. But he was full of new ideas.

    After he left college, Steven Jobs worked as a video game designer. He worked there for only several months and then he went to India. He hoped that the trip would give him some new ideas and give him a change in life.

    Steven Jobs lived on a farm in California for a year after he returned from India.

    In 1975, he began to make a new type of computer. He designed the Apple Computer with his friend in his garage. He chose the name "Apple" just because it could help him to remember a happy summer he once spent in an apple tree garden.

    His Apple Computer was such a great success that Steven Jobs soon became famous all over the world.

    Boyan Slat has one huge goal. It's a goal that could be good for people and a {#blank#}1{#/blank#} all over the world. Amazingly, it looks like he's going to m {#blank#}2{#/blank#}his goal.

    When he was 16  Dutch engineering student Slat was on vacation in Greece, and he started to think about all the rubbish that is p{#blank#}3{#/blank#} onto beaches by water. The oceans around the world are all of plastic—millions of tons of plastic. Unfortunately, plastic doesn't just disappear. It takes c{#blank#}4{#/blank#} to break down (分解).

    The p{#blank#}5{#/blank#} situation of the oceans is bad and worrying and Slat wanted to do something to change it. So he made it a personal goal to clean up the rubbish in the world's oceans.

    Slat started with an idea for an unusual m{#blank#}6{#/blank#} to "catch" the plastic floating (漂浮) in the water using the natural energy of the ocean. He left school in 2013 to begin work on his project The Ocean Cleanup. Soon, the project r{#blank#}7{#/blank#} a lot of attention.

    A year later, he was leading a team of 100 scientists and engineers working on the invention. Slat needed money for this, so he started asking people to d{#blank#}8{#/blank#} to his project online and raised over $ 2 million!

    Soon after, Slat was named a "Champion of the Earth" by the United Nations for his meaningful and v{#blank#}9{#/blank#} work. It's the most important title the UN gives to people helping the environment. The Ocean Cleanup also won several awards (奖项) for having one of the best inventions of 2015. But the d{#blank#}10{#/blank#} goes on for Slat. He hopes that the oceans will be free of plastic in about twenty or thirty years.
