On a cold January day, Jimmy and his father were skating on a lake. Suddenly the ice near Jimmy1 , and he fell into the cold water. Jimmy's father jumped into the water, but he couldn't find Jimmy. Several minutes passed. The father2 couldn't find Jimmy. Some firemen (消防队员) arrived. Twenty minutes later they found Jimmy and got 3 out of the water. Jimmy was not breathing, and his heart was not beating. The situation seemed 4 . However, the firemen didn't give up and still did CPR (心肺复苏) on Jimmy. Luckily, Jimmy began to breathe, and his heart began to beat. He was taken to the hospital at once.

Mrs. Brown will go to see her daughter in New York. She wants to take some of her favorite books. She finds an old-book in her bookcase. It's a book about art. Mrs. Brown finds a library card in it. "Oh, it's from the library," says Mrs. Brown. She finds the due date on the library card. The due date is November 20th, 1985, but it's 2023 now! "Oh, I must pay a fine (交付罚款) for it," thinks Mrs. Brown. She doesn't know what to do. She thinks about it. "I can just throw the book out (扔掉). No one will know," thinks Mrs. Brown. So she throws the book into the trash can (垃圾桶). "No, that's not the right thing to do," says Mrs. Brown. Then she takes the book out of the trash can.

Mrs. Brown lives on a farm. Every day she gets up early and then starts her 1 : watering the plants, cleaning the yard(院子) and feeding the animals. Her husband, Mr. Brown usually makes her some bread and eggs for 2 . But today Mr. Brown isn't 3 in the kitchen and there is no food on the table.

When our teacher asked who would like to be the physics monitor(物理课代表)，I1 my hand and got the role. But it was not as easy as I thought.
