Teenagers today know about computers and are familiar with using them. We did a survey among 60 young people between 13 and 19 in order to find out what they use computers to do.

    All the young people questioned say that they regularly use computers to play games. Twenty-eight of them do some word processing(文字处理)at home, but not very much. Only ten of them say that they look for useful information for their studies online. And sixteen of them listen to music and watch movies on their computers. Only two of them say they use computers as calculators. And six of them use computers to learn programming(编程).

    Good morning, everyone! I'm Miss Li. I am an English teacher.  There are twenty boys and twenty-two girls in my class. This is Betty. She is an American girl. She likes football. This is Tony. He is an English boy. He likes basketball. His favourite day is Saturday. Yellow is his favourite colour. This is Daming and he is Chinese. He likes white best. Table tennis is his favourite sport.

    People burn coal, gas and oil to get energy But there are problems with these fuels (燃料). (A)________, these fuels cause pollution. Pollution makes the air and water unsafe for humans. Secondly, these fuels will not last forever. One day, we will run out of these fuels.

    Scientists are looking for new kinds of energy. One is heat from the Earth. We know that (B)地球中央非常热. We cannot reach the center of the Earth, but in some places the heat from the Earth's center comes to the surface of the Earth.     (D)In Australia, scientists are looking for ways to make energy using hot rocks under the surface of the Earth. They want to pump (抽水)water onto the hot rocks .When the water hits the rocks, it makes stream(蒸汽). The steam is piped to power stations where (E) it is used to make electricity. The electricity can then be sent all over the country.

    A teenage boy couldn't stand his parents' family rules, so he left home.

    He didn't find a job, and he had to beg (乞讨) for food on the street for a living. Years later his mother died. Though his father was old, he was still looking for his son. Everywhere he went, he put up a big photo of himself on the wall It said, "I still love you, my dearest son. Please come back home!"

    One day, the son saw one of the photos. The face on the photo was just his father's He moved closer and read the words, "I still love you. Tears ran down his face He made up his mind to go back to see his parents.

    It was an early morning when he got home. He knocked on the door. Nobody answered, but the door opened itself He rushed to his father's bedroom. "It's me! Your son is back home!" They held each other happily. "Why is the door unlocked? A thief could get in." The father answered in a soft voice, "The door has never been locked since you left. I'm always waiting for you."

    The door of parents' love for their children will never be closed.
