  Relax yourself

{#blank#}2{#/blank#}. You need to relax. This will help you with your listening.

  Think when you're listening

{#blank#}4{#/blank#}. For example, you can think of the following questions:What happened? When,where and how? What was the result and what did the speaker want to tell us? In this way, you may understand the passage better.

{#blank#}5{#/blank#}

  It's important for you to remember some important facts. For example, if the passage is a science report, you should try to remember its findings, and how the scient ists got their results. This is also helpful to your listening.

    "So, what do you want to do after graduation?"{#blank#}1{#/blank#}However, you have to make up your mind as your last high school year begins. Whether your plans include college, heading straight for the workforce, or taking a year off, here are some practical tips to prepare yourself for the journey.

Going to College

    Some people know from an early age exactly what they want to be and how they plan to get there. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} According to a recent survey, 75% of students change their majors after they enter college. After all, school is also not just about careers and getting a high-paying job after graduation -- it's a place for learning about yourself and the world.

    Selecting a School

    If college is in your future, you need to plan. Start by asking yourself questions about your preferences. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Once you've narrowed down your choices, ask the schools to send you literature or visit their websites.

Getting a Job

    Maybe you've decided that college isn't for you -- right now, anyway. If you want to join the workforce, opportunities are out there for people who don't have degrees. Some products-selling or service industry organizations offer training programs to high school graduates. Search the classified ads in the newspaper and do some Internet research.  {#blank#}4{#/blank#}

    Taking Time Off

    What if you intend to go to college but just don't feel ready to start yet, for whatever reason? {#blank#}5{#/blank#}This practice is common in some countries, like the United Kingdom, where it's called a "gap year". Even if you decide not to apply to college, it can be a great idea to take a year to do something you may not have an opportunity to do again. Lots of volunteer organizations would welcome your time and energy and would provide you with a wonderful learning experience.

A. You might want to get a high-paid job first.

B. Many juniors and seniors get bored answering that question over and over.

C. You might want to take a year off to pause.

D.  This is the fact that young people have to take into consideration.

E. Ask friends in college about their schools and other schools they're familiar with.

F. Most large companies list their job openings on their websites.

G. Not all of us are so sure of our plans, though, and that's OK too.

    Kelly came home fired and discouraged from her job. She started yelling at everyone in the house. When she calmed down, she started to feel guilty and wanted her family to forgive her.

    Does this story sound familiar? What about you?{#blank#}1{#/blank#}

    We sometimes make some mistakes.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}When you hurt someone and start feeling guilty, the first thing yon need to do is forgive yourself before you ask others to forgive you. Whether you screamed at your child, hurt your partner or lied to your friend, it is necessary to forgive yourself for your benefit.

    To learn how to forgive yourself, follow the guide below:

    ◆{#blank#}3{#/blank#} If it is something simple such as screaming at your child or your partner, then work on understanding yourself and emotions. It is also necessary to understand why you took this action for which you have to forgive yourself now.

    ◆After you have known about your mistake, you need to learn your lesson from it, so you won't repent it. Ask yourself, what can you learn from what you have done?{#blank#}4{#/blank#}

    ◆Realize that you are a human and everyone makes mistakes or does things they are not proud of.{#blank#}5{#/blank#} All it will do is to cause you pain, sorrow, stress, and could lead you into low spirits. Therefore, it is better to make a decision to forgive yourself.

    Right now you are reading English. That means that you are using your brain in a very active way. Reading is a very active process. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} When you read a text, you have to do some or all of these:

    Imagine a scene in your head

    Understand clearly what the writer is trying to say

    Agree or disagree with the writer

    There are also many advantages associated with reading, including:

    {#blank#}2{#/blank#}

    You will usually meet with new words when you read. If there are too many new words for you, then the level is too high and you should read something simpler. But if there are, say, a maximum of five new words per page, you will learn this vocabulary easily. You may not even need to use a pocket dictionary because you can guess the meaning from the rest of the text. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}

    A model for writing

    When you read, it gives you a good example for writing. Texts that you read show you structures and expressions that you can use when you write.

    Seeing “correctly structured” English

    When people write, they usually use “correct” English with a proper grammatical structure. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} So, by reading you see and learn grammatical English naturally.

    {#blank#}5{#/blank#}

    You can read as fast or as slowly as you like. You can read ten pages in 30 minutes, or take one hour to explore just one page. It doesn't matter. The choice is yours. You can not easily do this when speaking or listening. This is one of the big advantages of reading because different people work at different speeds.

A. Working at your own speed

B. Learning vocabulary in context (语境)

C. This is not always true when people speak

D. Focusing on exactly what you want to learn

E. you should write down unknown vocabulary in whole sentences

F. Not only do you learn new words, but you see them being used naturally

G. It is true that the writer does a lot of work, but the reader also has to work hard

Four Habits to Help You Succeed

    We all want to succeed, whether it is in losing weight or learning the guitar. For those who have tried and failed, success seems difficult to understand. Why does one person succeed while another person fails? {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

    ⒈Identify your core values.

    Finding your core values is in line with creating inner motivation.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} Pick a handful of things and write them down. Remind yourself of your values every day, and reflect on whether you are honouring those values through your work.

    ⒉Pick a goal and focus on it.

    Choose one goal to start something large enough that will give you a sense of achievement, while adjusting well to your core values. Focus is key here. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} If you perform many tasks at a time, you might never complete your projects because they will take far too long.

    ⒊Set a deadline for success.

    Set a date for success. Identify when you hope to achieve your goal. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}

    By setting a time limit, you are making the process more real.

    {#blank#}5{#/blank#}

    Failure can't be avoided when you take risks. Many people give up far too early. Use failure. Treat it as a good thing, and move on.

A.The more focused you are on one goal, the higher chance you have of success.

B.Make the right decision.

C.I have made a list of four habits to help you set goals and achieve them.

D.Stick to your goal.

E.Keep it realistic, while not giving you too much time.

F.Sit and reflect on what you value most.

G.Push yourself to be courageous, and take that next step.

Recently, I carried out an investigation to discover what it was that prevented people from journalling. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} So, today, I want to introduce a very simple tool — The MicroMOVEment Wheel. It will help you pick up your journal even at times when you really don't feel like it.

{#blank#}2{#/blank#} She describes creating this method so she could use it as a creative planning tool for her writing projects and goals. While it was originally aimed at writers, you can use this technique to help you complete any project in a fun and creative way.

{#blank#}3{#/blank#} Here's how it works. Take a blank sheet of paper and draw a large circle, and then another smaller circle in the middle, In the center circle, write down what you are inspired to achieve. Remember, journaling does not need to feel like a chore in your day. So come up with descriptions for your journalling that are inspiring and energizing. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} These are what SARK refers to as the MicroMOVEments. Each MicroMOVEment is five minutes in length, So, in the case of journalling, that would represent a minimum of up to five minutes of journalling in one sitting, on any given day.

Let's say you're new to journalling. By setting aside five minutes out of your day, you could write one word in your notebook that sums up a feeling or an experience. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} The idea of the MicroMOVEment is to create easy steps to get your journal writing or writing projects moving. When you keep the steps small, it will become doable and achievable.

A. Next, divide the rest of the circle into eight equal parts.

B. It is the brainchild of international bestselling writer SARK.

C. There are no hard-and-fast rules when it comes to journalling.

D. Where to start and not having enough time were amongst the top responses.

E. Daily tasks such as sweeping and washing are time-consuming and laborious.

F. Then, list any associated words, images or thoughts that are generated by the word.

G. The medicine with this approach is breaking your actions down into the tiniest steps.
