Ways To Manage Stress Creatively

Stress is a huge problem for us all. Here's what I've learned and applied to manage stress using my creativity.

Putting my creativity and my work first, I often neglected to eat, exercise, even stand up from my desk. I now realize that how I feel physically (and mentally) is more important than the work I create. Taking care of myself includes all natural remedies(疗法). I'm learning how to say no to social pressures, in favor of my own well being.

Don't worry about what other people think of you.

This is easier said than done, but I promise it does come with ageA lot of people do offer unsolicited(自发的) advice. It is human nature to want to help other people. But if that advice is coming from a place of control or judgment, RUN in the opposite direction.

    Don't compare.

Most people are not as happy as they describe themselves to be. The best advice I ever heard was this:Don't compare your inside to other people's outside. Be open to new experiences, be kind to yourself and accepting of the journey which is life. Being present means not thinking into the future, or harping(唠叨) on the past. The coolest thing about being present is that CREATIVITY LIVES IN THE MOMENT.

    Your intentions matter.

What was your intention? I remind myself to enjoy the process of my creative fun stuff, it's for me. If others like it, great, but it's the enjoyment of my creative intention, in the moment, that I treasure.

A. Stop judging

B. Each moment is UNIQUE

C. We have to work in order to live

D. Take care of yourself--Mind AND Body

E. Stress is often caused by comparison to others

F. It's important to remember why you started doing something

G. No one cares about what you're doing unless what you're doing affects them

The Internet has opened up a whole new online world for us to meet, chat and go where we've never been before. But just as inface-to-face communication, there are some rules of behavior that should be followed when on line. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}Imagine how you'd feel if you were in the other person's shoes.

For anything you're about to send: ask yourself,“Would I say this to the person's face?”If the answer is no, rewrite and reread{#blank#}2{#/blank#}If someone in the chat room is rude to you, your instinct(本能) is to fireback in the same manner. But try not to do so. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}If it was caused by a disagreement with another member, try to fix thesituation by politely discussing it. Remember torespect the beliefs and opinions of others in the chat room.

{#blank#}4{#/blank#}Offer advice when asked by newcomers, as they maynot be sure what to do or how to communicate. When someonemakes a mistake, whether it's astupid question or an unnecessarily long answer, be kind aboutit. If it's a small mistake, you may not need to say anything. Even if youfeel strongly about it, think twicebefore saying anything. Having goodmariners yourself doesn't give you license to correct everyone else. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}At the sametime, if you find you are wrong. be sure tocorrect yourself and apologize to those that you have offended.

    Have you used “um…” “like…” “you know…” in your speech? Catch words(口头禅) are unnecessary words used to fill up dead paces while you speak. Speaking too many catch words is like a bad habit that we are unaware of. While most people tend to ignore it in everyday conversation, in a formal speech or an interview, too many catch words can make even the best presentation look bad.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}

Stop when we are in doubt. Catch words are used more often when a person is unsure about the sentence to use next.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}If you are lost or in doubt over what to say next, just stop speaking, take a long pause, breathe in , figure out what to say and start again.

Speak consciously and slowly. If the speech is too long and you talk continuously without thinking, then you might also be pushing in a few catch words in between.

{#blank#}3{#/blank#}It is best to memorize the tricky parts of the speech, like the introduction and the conclusion where a majority of the catch words are used.

{#blank#}4{#/blank#} Preparing for the speech is very important when trying to remove catch words. Make it a point to pause when there is a comma or give two pauses at the end of the sentence. If certain words in the speech need to be emphasized then underline them and practice them as they need to be said.

Avoid catch words in conversations. Get a friend or your partner to help you out when rehearsing a conversation.{#blank#}5{#/blank#} Although it can be an unpleasant and often embarrassing process, but in the long run it helps in cutting down on catch words.

A. Practise your speech when you can.

B. Remember the saying that silence is golden.

C. Therefore we can find out best friends to guide us well.

D. Anytime you use a catch word, the friend can point it out.

E. So we should learn some ways to avoid speaking such words.

F. Structure the speech well to include as much information as is needed.

G. The mind is so busy trying to figure out what to say that there is a strong urge to speak such words.
