If the eyes are the windows of the heart, then the body is the mirror of our feelings. If we are feeling great, we may give our body signals. If we look at someone else, we can often tell how he or she is feeling through his or her body signals. So reading body language signals is a great tool in daily communication. 

If you don't think that learning how to read and use body language is important here are some numbers for you. 7% of the information we receive is from what people actually say and 38% of the information we receive is from the tone (语气) and the speed of their voice, while 55% of the information we receive is from their body language. 

These non-verbal (非语言的) signals will help you a lot, but you still need to focus on what the speaker is saying. If you focus too much on the body language signals, both you and the speaker may feel uncomfortable. 

It is useful to be able to read people's body language, and it is useful to learn how to send the right signals and avoid the wrong signals, too. Body language may be given several meanings,which depend on the person and the situation.Be sure of it when you are trying to read a body language signal. 

①On Sept.7, famous Chinese archaeologist(考古学家) Fan Jinshi, 85, was awarded by UNESCO for her contribution to the protection of the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang.

②Called the" daughter of Dunhuang", her story with the caves started 60 years ago. In 1963, Fan, then a 25- year- old Peking University graduate, had the chance to work at the Mogao Caves.

③" Seeing Dunhuang for the first time was breathtaking. But only when truly staying here did I realize that inside the caves is a world of divine beauty while outside is a land of blowing sand and yellow earth," Fan told Gansu Daily.

④Back in those days, the Mogao Caves were almost completely cut off from the world. Fan and her coworkers had to live in mud houses and drink salty water. They stayed inside the Caves to copy murals(壁画) and do whatever they could to protect and restore them. In 2011 after 40 years of hard work, a report on 10 Mogao Caves by Fan's team was finally published. It was known as China's first professional report on cave archaeology.

⑤As time passed. Fan found a serious problem. The increasing number of tourists visiting Dunhuang might harm the caves, causing the murals inside to fade. Something needed to be done to protect Dunhuang's heritage.

⑥In the late 1980s, Fan stumbled upon computer technology by chance. She realized that this might protect the Mogao Caves forever. After over 30 years of exploration, the Dunhuang Academy built a digital database to protect cultural relics(文物) there, allowing Dunhuang's art to live forever and to step out of the caves to meet the world. 

⑦" In my whole life, I've only done one thing: protect and promote the world cultural heritage of the Mogao Caves," she told People's Daily." My heart belongs to Dunhuang."

Every year on June21,skateboarders around the world celebrate their festival－Go Skateboarding Day. Do you know where this cool sport came from?

It started with some California surfers in the 1950s. For them,surfing is a way of life.They spent a lot of time in the ocean and basically lived on the beach Soon,some surfers wanted a way to surf on land. They started putting wheels on the bottom of wooden boards and using them to get around.

Surfers called this new sport"sidewalk surfing". This early form of skateboarding was

dangerous.Many people fell off their skateboards and hurt themselves while practicing. Soon,sports stores began selling thinner skateboards that were easier to control.They also made helmets and kneepads(护膝) to protect players. The new sport became safer and more people got interested in it In 1973, American skateboarder Alan Gelfand created the first skateboarding trick called the

"Ollie".In this trick,the skateboarder and the skateboard both leap into the air without the use of the skateboarder's hands. Soon,skateboarders all over the world were trying to copy this trick. Since then, many new tricks have been invented and skateboarding has continued to develop. The sport even made it into the Tokyo Olympics. It has come a long way from the early days of"sidewalk surfing"!

A foreign girl named Kris posted a sad photo online. It looked like her boyfriend made her cry. Some nice Chinese people tried to cheer her up. They asked her to find someone better. Some made funny Chinglish to make her feel happy, such as "You swan（天鹅）, he frog（青蛙）."

This became a hit with foreigners. Many found it cool, shared it a lot online and made funny pictures with it.

"I need Chinese netizens（网友） in my life who call the people that have hurt me frogs," said a foreign internet user, showing her love for the expression. Some of them wanted to know why Chinese people use "swan" and "frog" to describe this couple. After looking into it, they learned that it came from the famous old Chinese story of the beautiful swan and the ugly toad （癞蛤蟆）, and got interested in the Chinese stories behind Chinglish.

In the past, people often corrected those who spoke Chinglish because it was full of grammar mistakes. However, with globalization（全球化）, people from different countries can now share their ideas more often. Different styles of speaking English are becoming common and even accepted. English with local features can also be popular. For example, the well-known "add oil" has now appeared in the Oxford dictionary and people use it widely. The phrase shows Chinese culture.

"Once I understood the full meaning, it became much funnier," said Cody, a young man from New Zealand, when asked about "you swan, he frog". "It's great that more Chinese culture is being shared with the rest of the world," he told China Daily.
