There is always a discussion about whether you should get your kids to do chores at home or not. However, getting kids to do housework is really good for children in many ways. So I find it hard to understand why you wouldn't get them to do chores.

The most important reason is that getting children to do chores teaches them a lot of life skills. They need to know how to clean, how to cook, how to shop, etc. It is, however, one of the things that schools don't teach completely, so it is one of the main parts of learning that parents should provide for children before they leave home.

Children like to feel proud about their achievements. Making them help around the house can really help to give them a sense of pride. Also, giving them praise for helping will make them want to do more. They will feel happy to be able to help around the house.

Giving your children a job to do or an area in the house to look after will help them learn how to be responsible in their future life. They will see the benefit (益处) of keeping things organized, clean and tidy—and also be more thankful for what you do for them as they grow up.

Planning is a life skill that can be got from helping around the house. As children get older, you can start to teach them how to understand the needs of themselves and others and plan by themselves. For example, if they help with the washing, let them make sure that they do it in time. They may start to plan ahead.

All these reasons for getting kids to help around the house mean that they'll grow up with a great set of skills that can be good for them throughout their lives. Why not get started today?

When the first person looked up at the sky, the imagination of the space began. In China, there are many stories about the exploration of space. 

Thousands of years ago, there was a lady named Chang'e who flew to the Moon and lived there. It's a story just living in myths(神话). In the Ming Dynasty, a man named Wan Hu used the machine which was made of a chair, some fireworks and a kite as a rocket. He wanted to go into the space but failed. He was considered as the first human to try to explore the space. 

In 2003, when Shenzhou V successfully set off, Yang Liwei's words" ask for instructions to go to the war" brought tears(眼泪) to our eyes. Carrying the flying dream of the Chinese nation for thousands of years, the first" space visitor" of China, excellently completed his task. It started the space age for the Chinese. In 2008, Zhai Zhigang, Liu Boming and Jing Haipeng returned to space by Shenzhou VII. Zhai achieved the success of the first Chinese spacewalk. "I am out of the capsule(太空舱), I feel good, " he told the world proudly. 

In the following years, China kept on making its way to explore more about the space. Especially in the recent two years, China has launched (发射) Shenzhou XIII and Shenzhou XIV. Six astronauts have been sent into the space. 

From 2003 to 2022, China's manned space- flight has gone through about twenty years of hard, but successful journey. With the take- off again and again, Chinese people go farther and farther in space, but our dream is getting closer and closer. 

In the near future, Chinese people will be sent to the Moon and land on it. 

Falling leaves and cold wind show the arrival of another season. December 13th is Lidong. It is a Chinese word for one of the 24 solar terms (二十四节气). {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

To welcome Lidong, people have many colorful customs (风俗) that light up the cold days. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Eating well helps people store energy (存储能量) to beat the cold in winter, and prepare for the growth in the coming spring. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} The Chinese word for dumpling—jiaozi (饺子) has a similar pronunciation (发音) to the word "change"—jiao. Eating dumplings means celebrating (庆祝) the change of autumn to winter. While in the south, eating chicken, duck and fish is common. 

{#blank#}4{#/blank#} In the past, there were not many fresh vegetables to eat in winter. Therefore, around Lidong some people who lived in the north began to store vegetables like cabbages and green onions. However, some of the customs have disappeared (消失) now. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} Instead, new winter customs come out in certain places.
