Whether you're spending time with family and friends or hoping to catch dinner, fishing is a great way to enjoy the outdoors. Here are some tips before you start fishing.
Go where the fish are.
Talk to other fishermen to get some tips on locations for fishing. Public lakes, rivers, and ponds are usually your best choice.
If you live on the coast, ocean fishing is a good choice, but you'll need a license(许可证) for ocean fishing.
Find out what people fish for in your area.
Many newspapers have local fishing reports.
Catfish are common river and lake fish all over the United States.
In the south, gar and bowfins are common in swampy (沼泽地的) regions.
In the northwest, rainbow trout are well stocked and common.
If you want to find out what kind of fish are around, throw in some food and wait a few minutes.
Fish at the right time of day.
Most freshwater fish come out to eat at dawn and at dusk, making sunrise and sunset the most effective(有效的) fishing hours.

Burns (烫伤) from fire or other causes happen sometimes. So what should you do if you get burned?
When a burn happens, check and decide if you can take care of the burn yourself. You need to go to the hospital at once if any of these situations happen:
▼The burn is serious.
▼The burned area is large.
▼The burn seems infected(感染的).
If you can't get to a hospital right away, don't worry. The following steps can help:
Take away clothing carefully from the burned area. Do not take away clothing that is stuck to the skin(粘住皮肤), and don't break any blisters(水泡).
Run cool(not cold) water over the burn. Do not put oil or ice on the burn.
Lightly put a bandage over the burn or cover the burned area with a clean soft cloth if it's large.
