During the outbreak, watching TV shows has become the most popular activity, according to a survey by Chinese market research company Guideline Research. The survey also points out that people have many ways to watch shows apart from cable TV. They include smartphones, computers, and tablets.

It's true that TV is not usually watched on an actual TV anymore. Technology has not only changed where but also how we watch TV.

Streaming(流媒体) networks, rather than live TV, have helped viewers watch their favorite shows when it's most convenient for them. In the US, content providers like Netflix and Amazon Prime keep people entertained. Users can choose which services offer the shows and movies they like.

Binge-watching(刷剧) has become a new trend due to some companies releasing entire seasons at once. Without having to wait for next week's episode(集), viewers can watch the whole season in a day, or at whatever pace(速度) they choose. Netflix has also released a choose-your-own-adventure movie, where your choices can affect how the story ends, an idea not possible before with traditional TV.

User-generated(用户创造的) content apps like TikTok are also blurring(模糊)the lines of what is considered TV. This may be the biggest change to the TV landscape, as anyone can compete with professional, big-budget(大制作的) TV shows. This trend shows no sign of slowing down.

The pursuit of longevity has long been on people's minds, prompting an abundance of research on the effects of food and diet on the human lifespan. According to recent research from the UC Irvine Institute, drinking coffee and wine could help you live longer.

The 90+ Study evaluated more than 1,600 people over the age of 90 for their lifestyle habits and other qualities that might have contributed to their longevity.

Participants were visited every six months, when they were given various tests. Researchers also collected information about the participants' diets, lifestyles, and medical histories.

They found out that two of the habits that helped preserve lives the most are drinking alcohol and coffee. “I have no explanation for it,” admitted Dr Claudia Kawas, “but I do firmly believe that moderate (适度的) drinking improves longevity.” So should we all be drinking more coffee and wine? While that would be great news, the research may not be as definitive as it seems.

“Most studies about alcohol consumption, including The 90+ Study, are observational, so we  can only say that something about drinking is associated with health and longevity,” registered dietitian Jennifer Markowitz told The Daily Meal.

“I'd be curious to see if the coffee and alcohol drinkers shared other important habits or lifestyle factors that might also play into their longevity.”

In other words, it might not be the wine and coffee that's helping people live longer, but the two substances do have some considerable health benefits. “Wine and coffee are packed with antioxidants(抗氧化剂) which are known to protect our bodies from damage caused by free radicals,” explained registered dietitian Keri Gans to The Daily Meal. “Research on antioxidants has shown several heath benefits, including the possibility they may lower the risk of type 2 diabetes, improve cognitive function, decrease the risk of dementia, and lower the risk of heart disease.”

Moderate drinking can be beneficial according to other studies—so long as it's moderate.

Luke has always been my closest and constant companion these past five years. In fact, he is very friendly to me especially when I take care of other furry friends in our shelter.

There have been a lot of forest fires during the summer season. Not far from our shelter, a forest caught fire during this hot summer. Luke rushed towards the forest where flames send out a terrible heat. There's no longer any hope at the moment to wait for Luke to come back to the shelter. In fact, I was waiting for the firemen to announce me his death in the forest. Suddenly, a fireman burst into my office and informed me that my dog Luke succeeded in saving four cats which were trapped by the flames. Luke seized the kittens, one by one moving them to a safe place.

I immediately accompanied the fireman to the forest to pick up the rescued kittens, but Luke was not there. Then we heard the sound of a dog came from the forest barking furiously. The firemen followed the tracks of the dog until they found him barking loudly by the side of an injured fireman who was lying on the ground.

That day, I was very proud of Luke for his two heroic actions. I paid a visit to the fireman accompanied with my adorable Luke. What a memorable scene when the fireman hugged Luke tightly to his chest! “One thousand thanks, Luke, for saving my life,” the fireman said.

This true story of love shows us that pets are kind, loving, and caring. We should love and protect them. Don't belittle them. Little animals can make enormous things for humans.
