Hi, my name is Elaine and I'm a teacher in Grade Six. I'm, going to talk a{#blank#}1{#/blank#}some activities of the Open Day of our school. The Open Day will be on the f{#blank#}2{#/blank#} day of the school. The students don't know each other because they are n{#blank#}3{#/blank#}here. First, I will ask them to talk about their names, their hobbies and so on. They will be very happy to share that. Next, they will draw a picture of the teachers.  Some of the pictures will be very f{#blank#}4{#/blank#}. Then, they will play games together. The name of the game is to find friends. They can stand up and m{#blank#}5{#/blank#} around to ask others some questions. They will like it because they can know more about their classmates. The parents can also have a talk with each o{#blank#}6{#/blank#}. These are very interesting activities for the kids and it just makes them f{#blank#}7{#/blank#}welcome.

Li Wen is a {#blank#}1{#/blank#}15 -year-old boy from the countryside. When he was a little boy, he seldom cause any problems. However, things began to change a few years ago. His parents moved to the city to look for jobs and his grandparents came to take care of him. But he missed his parents so much and he often felt lonely and unhappy.

Li Wen's unhappiness {#blank#}2{#/blank#} to influence his schoolwork. He became less {#blank#}3{#/blank#}in studying. Sometimes he was absent from classes and failed his examinations. Finally, Li Wen's parents made the {#blank#}4{#/blank#} to send him to a boarding school. However, Li Wen was shy and not {#blank#}5{#/blank#}to make friends quickly. He found life there difficult. One day he told his teacher that he wanted to leave the school. His teacher {#blank#}6{#/blank#} him and she called his parents to come here." It was exactly what I needed," he said. After that, Li Wen's parents had much more {#blank#}7{#/blank#} with their son than they used to." I'm much {#blank#}8{#/blank#} now and I work even harder than I used to." said Li Wei.

    The New Year was coming. Grace and Alice were going shopping with their mother. The mother wanted to{#blank#}1{#/blank#} them to a Farmers' Fair (集市),but Grace wanted to go to the supermarket. The mother explained that they{#blank#}2{#/blank#} buy fresh fruit and vegetables there, and could support (支持) local farmers as well. Grace agreed.

    The girls were{#blank#}3{#/blank#} when they arrived there. The farmers sold things that they grew{#blank#}4{#/blank#}. Alice found a stall (货摊) with red strawberries ,and she{#blank#}5{#/blank#}, "Where did you get so many good strawberries?" The woman answered, "I grow them on my farm. You can come to visit my farm{#blank#}6{#/blank#} you like." "That will be great!" said Alice. At last, Alice asked her mother to buy{#blank#}7{#/blank#} strawberries. They also bought something else.

    At the dinner, the father asked each person to say something{#blank#}8{#/blank#} this day. Alice said, "I want to thank not only the strawberries, but also the{#blank#}9{#/blank#} They needed to work so {#blank#}10{#/blank#}to grow strawberries." Grace then said, "We should thank the food and the people who bring it to us every day." Alice and Grace's parents smiled.

    Last night, Dave met Tina. They {#blank#}1{#/blank#}about their last weekend. For Dave, the {#blank#}2{#/blank#} was very nice. On Saturday, he{#blank#}3{#/blank#}for the history test. On Sunday, he watched a (an) {#blank#}4{#/blank#} TV play. "It was great!" he said. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}Tina's weekend wasn't very good. She was really   tired because she had a {#blank#}6{#/blank#} weekend. She went shopping on Saturday morning and read a book {#blank#}7{#/blank#} music on Saturday afternoon. She visited {#blank#}8{#/blank#} grandmother on Saturday evening. On Sunday, she wrote {#blank#}9{#/blank#} new song for the school music festival. It was a little {#blank#}10{#/blank#}, so she asked her mother for help.

Mr. Wang is a teacher in our school. He teaches us English. He walks to work every day.
