Much has been made about the need for teachers to develop healthy relationships with the parents of their students. Similarly, headmasters who hold the opportunity to build the relationships with parents will find it to be a worthwhile investment (投资).

As is known, headmasters spend much time on after-school activities. Great headmasters are good at finding common interests with almost any parent. They can talk about anything from the weather to politics to sports. Having these talks helps parents see you as a real person for the school. Knowing something personal about you will make it easier to trust and respect you.

One simple strategy for building relationships with parents is to call 5-10 parents each week and ask them a sum of questions about the school, their children's teachers, etc. Parents will love that you took the time to ask them their opinion.  A headmaster can invite a small group of parents to join them for lunch to talk about key problems the school is dealing with. These lunches can be scheduled every month or as needed.

Finally, schools are almost always forming committees on different school-related topics. These committees should not be limited to school personnel. Inviting parents and students to serve on a committee brings a different viewpoint that can be beneficial for everyone. And they provide their stamp (印记) on their child's education. Headmasters are able to use this time to continue to build relationships and ask for a viewpoint.

A. Another strategy is a parent's lunch.

B. Parents may not always agree with your decisions.

Lots of people give you advice on overcoming (克服) fear. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}  However, I want to tell you that a world without fear would be more dangerous, less rewarding. So we want to treat fear as a friend? Here are three reasons.

{#blank#}2{#/blank#} Think about it. Do you get more nervous when you meet the girl (or guy) of your dreams?Which is more fearful, talking to the boss of your company or to some of your friends?{#blank#}3{#/blank#} If you didn't have fear to guide you, you might not know that! Not so bad, right?

    Next, fear encourages us to take action. Fear is a call to action. In the past, our ancestors (祖先) didn't run away in fear when they saw a tiger running toward them but tried to kill it for food. Now, most of us don't face serious danger like hungry tigers every day, but we do face serious bosses or public speaking. So, what can we do?{#blank#}4{#/blank#}

Lastly, fear lets you know you are alive. Why do we like roller coasters (过山车)?{#blank#}5{#/blank#} Same for horror movies.

So fear can guide you towards what's important for you and encourage you to take action to improve. Don't we all need that kind of friend?

A. Don't fear to be wrong.

B. It frightens us in a mostly safe way.

C. Imagine what life would be like without fear.

D. The first is that fear is an excellent guide to opportunity.

E. They say if you can overcome fear, you will be successful.

F. Let fear provide us with the energy to do what needs to be done.

G. Fear is showing you what is important and what matters to you.

Several days ago, a 28-year-old Californian wife and mother of three children died from drinking too much water. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}The contest was held by a local radio show and its organizers promised a free Wii video game machine to the contestant who drank the most water.

It was estimated that the woman who died drank approximately two gallons of water during the contest. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}This information is particularly important for parents to pass on to their children. Foolish water-drinking contests are not uncommon among high school and university students, especially while playing cards.

{#blank#}3{#/blank#}The answer to this question depends on your unique circumstances, including your diet, exercise habits, and environment. If you eat plenty of foods that are naturally rich in water, such as vegetables and fruits, you may not need to drink very much water at all. If you do not use much salt, your need for drinking water goes down even further.

Regardless of what your diet looks like, if you sweat on a regular basis because of exercise or a warm climate, you will need to supply your body with more water (through foods and/or liquids) than someone who does not sweat regularly. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}However, some people don't believe that it is a reliable indicator of how much water you need, as many people suffer with symptoms related to dehydration (脱水) and don't seem to feel a need to drink water on a regular basis.

The main idea that I wish to share through this article is that it is not wise to drink several glasses of water per day without considering your diet, exercise habits, climate, and sense of thirst. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}Remember, don't drink too much water in a short period of time.

A. Then why do we need water in our daily life?

B. It shows us that drinking too much water can be very dangerous.

C. Then how much water should you think to best support your health?

D. Ultimately, the best guidance I can provide on this issue is to follow your sense of thirst.

E. Her body was found in her home shortly after she took part in a water-drinking contest.

F. And when you find yourself in need of water, you can get it from liquids and/or foods.

G. If you ask people if they would like a glass of water, they will almost always realize they are indeed thirsty.
