A young British man called Luke Cameron has done a good deed(行为) every day for more than a year and he says it has completely changed his life.

Luke made a decision at the beginning of 2014. He started by doing one small good thing every single day from January 1^st, 2014. For example, he greeted the waiter at a café on New Year's Day and he bought food and drink for some homeless people the next day.

He set up a website where he could write down all his good deeds, like helping the neighbor take out the rubbish or spending a few hours in helping a disabled lady pick out a dress for a party.

"I've never thought of any return from helping others. Actually, it has given me happiness and I have become more thankful and grateful for the things I have now."Luke said. He has decided to continue doing good deeds in 2015.

Luke won the competition for the job of National Philanthropy(慈善) Manager because of his kind deeds. He will travel all over the UK and help 45 different charities in 2015.

"I used to work as a part-time worker in a shop. Now I become the National Philanthropy Manager." Luke said, "I think I've helped myself by helping others."

    The back door of the ambulance(救护车) was suddenly shut and the driver ran to the front, jumped into his seat, and started the engine. Inside were the1 parents, Mr. and Mrs. Green, the mother holding their baby daughter Ally. The little girl had 2 food stuck in her throat and could hardly breathe.

    The driver, Mr. White, 3 his siren (报警器) and flashing light, and started speeding towards the nearest hospital, fighting against4. The cars ahead of him pulled out of the way as he drove through the 5from the back of the 6 the parents were shouting at him to    7 , since Ally had almost stopped breathing. In front of him he saw some traffic lights, with the red "STOP" light shining. Mr. White knew that he had no time to 8 , so he drove straight past the traffic lights, looking to his left and right as he did so.

    Coming towards him from his right was a taxi. The driver had the windows 9, since the car was air-conditioned, and he was playing his radio. He did not10the ambulance. The lights were green, so he drove straight on into the path of the ambulance.

    Mr. White tried to stop his ambulance but it was too late. It hit the taxi. Everybody was shaken but no one was hurt. Mr. White looked to see how little Ally was. He was astonished to see relief instead of 11on the faces of the parents.

    "Look!" cried Mrs. Green. "She is 12again."

    "It must have been the crash." said her husband. "It 13 the food out of her throat." The baby's color was turning to14 , and she was crying in a loud but healthy 15.

    They were all joyful, and quite forgot about the accident, the taxi, and the lines of cars all around them.

    I sat down to read under an old tree in the park. I felt my life was hopeless, I didn't take an interest in anything. I thought that my whole world was dark.

    A young boy ran up to me, out of breath. He stood right before me with his head down and said excitedly, "Look what I found!" in his hand was a flower, and what a poor sight! The flower was dry and dead. I gave him a small smile and then turned my eyes away so that he could take his dry flower and go off to play. I didn't want to talk with him at all.

However, he sat next to my side and placed the flower to his nose and said in surprise, "It smells sweet and it's beautiful, too. That's why I picked it. Here, it's for you." The flower before me was dead. But I knew I must accept it, or he might never leave. So I accepted the flower, and replied, "This is just what I want, thank you." Just then, for the first time I noticed that the boy could not see — he was blind.

    Tears came down my face as I thanked him for picking the best one. "You're welcome." he smiled, and then ran off to play. I sat there and wondered how he was able to learn about my pain.

    Through the eyes of a blind child, at last I could see the problem was not with the world; the problem was me. And for all those years I myself had been blind. In fact I never found there is always something beautiful around me in life. I decided to see the beauty of life, and enjoy every second of my life. And then I held that dry flower up to my nose and breathed in the smell of a beautiful rose.

    While waiting to pick up a friend at the airport in Portland, Oregon, I had an experience which happened only two feet away from me.

    Trying to locate my friend among the passengers coming through the jet way, I noticed a man walking toward me carrying two light bags. He stopped right next to me to greet his family.

    First he kissed his three children one by one and said, "It's nice to see you. I missed you so much!" Then he hugged his wife, "I've saved the best for last!" giving her the longest, most passionate (狂热的) kiss I ever remember seeing. They stared at each other's eyes, smiling at one another, while holding both hands. For an instant they reminded me of newlyweds (新婚夫妇), but I knew by the age of their kids that they couldn't possibly be.

    Full of admiration, I asked, "Wow! How long have you two been married?" "Being together for fourteen years total, married twelve of those." He replied, without breaking his gaze from his lovely wife's face. "Well, then, how long have you been away?" I asked. "Two whole days!" "Two days?" I was astonished. By the intensity (热烈) of the greeting, I had thought he'd been gone for at least several weeks —if not months. I knew my expression betrayed me, so I turned away my eyes and said quietly, "I hope my marriage is still that passionate after so long!"

    The man suddenly stopped smiling and looked me straight in the eye. With forcefulness he told me something that left me a different person. "Don't hope, friend. Decide!" Then he smiled again, shook my hand and said, "God bless!"

    With that, he and his family turned and walked away together.

    I was still watching that man and his special family walk just out of sight when my friend came up to me and asked, "What are you looking at?" Without hesitation, and with a curious sense of certainty, I replied, "My future!"

     A young man graduated(毕业) from college. He wanted to own a sports car, so he told his father his dream. Several days later, his father called him into his room and gave him a beautiful gift box. The young man opened it and found a Bible(圣经). He was very angry. "You give me a Bible?" Then he ran out of his home, leaving the Bible.

     Since then, he lived alone. Many years passed, one day, he got a letter telling him his father had passed away. When he arrived at his father's house, he began to look for his father's important papers and saw the still new Bible. He opened the Bible, suddenly, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. The key to the sports car is just he wanted. At that moment, he knew how much his father loved him.

    I'll never forget the little boy called Dick. At that time, I worked in a hospital. There was a little girl. She was badly ill. The only chance to make her healthy again was a blood transfusion (输血) from her five-year-old brother Dick.

    The doctor told the boy about that and asked whether (是否) he would like to give his blood to his elder sister. Thinking of his sister, he thought for a moment, and took a deep breath. He said, "Yes, I will do this, if it saves her life."

    The moment came. His sister was lying on the bed next to him. The boy looked at her and smiled, but gradually his face became pale and his smile disappeared. He asked the doctor in a low voice, "Doctor, will I start to die right now?"

    The doctor smiled and said, "Of course not. You'll be stronger than before soon."

    The little boy thought that if he saved his sister, he would die, but he still chose to save her. What a brave boy!
