When I was a university student, I {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(attract) by the Chinese. So I got a job as a teacher in Wuhan three years ago.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} (think) back, I realize it was the students I met in the first year and Chinese university life in general {#blank#}3{#/blank#}gave me the deepest impression.

    During my school days, I would rarely give up my spare time to any activity {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(connect) with study. Unless exams were approaching, my weekends were devoted to having fun or perhaps a part-time job. My Chinese students,{#blank#}5{#/blank#} the other hand, seemed to spend their entire waking hours studying. I understand that competition in Chinese universities is extremely fierce. Nonetheless, their energy and motivation put {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(I) to shame.

    My first year in China was also my first year as a teacher. It was both challenging {#blank#}7{#/blank#}rewarding. One thing I know for certain is that my year in Wuhan changed me for the {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(good). Thanks to the politeness and {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(warm) of Chinese students, I overcame my fear of speaking in public and became more self-confident. Most {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(important), I met dozens of nice people and made many excellent friends.

    Until recently daydreaming was viewed as a waste of time or it {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (consider) an unhealthy escape from real life and its duties．But now some people are taking a fresh look at daydreaming．Some think it may be a very {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (health) thing to do．Some researchers are finding that daydreaming may be important to mental health．Daydreaming, they tell us, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} a good means  of relaxation．But its benefits go{#blank#}4{#/blank#} this．A number of psychologists have conducted experiments and have reached some{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (surprise) conclusion．

    Dr．Joan T．Freyberg has concluded that daydreaming contributes growth．It also improves{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (concentrate),attention span, and the ability to get along with others．Industrialist Henry J．Kaiser believed that much of his success was due{#blank#}7{#/blank#} the positive use of daydreaming．Florence Nightingale dreamed of becoming a nurse．The young Thomas Edison pictured{#blank#}8{#/blank#} as an inventor．

    For these notable achievers, it appears that their daydreams came  {#blank#}9{#/blank#}．Dr Harry Emerson Fosdick offered this advice: “Hold a picture of yourself…in your mind's eye, and you will be drawn toward it．Picture yourself {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (vivid) as defeated and that alone will make victory impossible．

    Swedish businessman Nile Bergqvist is delighted with his new hotel, the world's first igloo(冰屋) hotel.

    {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(build) in a small town, it has been attracting lots of visitors but soon the fun will be over. In two weeks' time Bergqvist's ice creation {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(be) nothing more than a pool of water. “ We don't see it as a big problem,” he says. “ We just look forward to replacing it.”

    Bergqvist built his first igloo in 1991 for an art exhibition. It was {#blank#}3{#/blank#}successful that he designed the present one,{#blank#}4{#/blank#} measures roughly 200 square meters.     Chamberlain, the first player{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(score) more than 3,000 points in a season, was born in Philadelphia in 1936.     Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family. The family was rude and refused{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (let) the angels stay in the guest room.
