    Lots of people go to the San Alfonso del Mar Resort during their vacations. They always have fun in the swimming pool. People can do different things in it.     Once there was a boy. He loved sweets(糖果) very much. He always asked his father for sweets.

    The boy's father thought hard about how to stop the child asking for so many sweets. There was a saint(圣人) living near their house. The boy's father decided to take the boy to him. He thought he might make the child give up (放弃) sweets.

    So they went to the saint. The father said," Great man, could you ask my son to stop asking for sweets all the time?" But it was difficult for the saint, because he liked sweets, too. Then he told the father to bring his son back after one month.

    During that month, the saint tried to stop eating sweets. At last, he did it. When the boy and his father went back a month later, the saint had a long talk with the boy. From then on, the boy did not ask for sweets any more.

    The boy's father felt surprised and asked, "Why didn't you ask my son to give up sweets when we came to you a month ago?" The saint answered," How could I ask a boy to give up sweets when I loved sweets myself? During the last month, I gave up eating sweets."

    A person's example(例子) is much more stronger(更有力的) than just his words. When we ask someone to do something, we must do it ourselves, too.

    Many people find it difficult to improve(提高) their reading skills (技能) when they learn English. In fact, it's not so difficult if you know the following tips.

    Reading should be interesting, so be sure you are reading the right book. The book should be not too difficult for you. You can start by reading an easy one.

    Find some books of your favorite writers and read them all. By doing this you will get used to (适应于) the writing style (风格) of the writer, and you can also learn the vocabulary(词汇) and grammar(语法) from the books.

    Try reading the same book again and again. You can improve your reading in this way. Every time you read the book, you will find something new.

    Try to talk about a book with other people. There are lots of online (网上的) book clubs and you can even write your ideas about the book you read.

Don't try to read " the classic(经典的)" at once. Just start with short stories. I started learning English by reading Winnie the Pooh! It was really easy and interesting!

    My friend's grandfather is tall. He was from a (农场) in (欧洲). He came to America last (周末). After he arrived in New York, he went into a restaurant to get something (可口的，美味的) to eat. He sat down at the table and waited for (某人) to take his order. Of course no one did. At last, a woman with two big bowls of food came up to him. She stood in (前面的) of him and told him how the restaurant works.
