Hello, I'm a Chinese girl. My name is Dong Lingling. My English name is Mary. Look! These are schoolbags. The first one is mine. It is blue and blue is my favorite color. A yellow pencil box, a white cup, and books are in my schoolbag. Look! A map is in it, too. It's a map of China. The next one is my friend Bill Green's. Our mothers are good friends, too. Bill's schoolbag is brown. It is very big. His mother Betty buys it for him. The letters"B" and"G" are on it. Two pens, two books, a baseball and two dictionaries are in it. Bill can't find his blue notebook in his schoolbag. The notebook is very important to him. He writes many things on it. He wants to find it now.

I like traveling alone. I have been to the Terracotta（兵马俑）, Disneyland and the Bird's Nest（鸟巢）. Attracted(吸引) by the beauty of the Great Wall, I flew there by myself this time.

At the entrance (入口), one short old woman followed me all the time. She wanted me to buy some cards. Finally, I became angry. "Don't you understand the meaning of ‘No'?" I shouted at her and left.

As soon as I walked along the Great Wall, I felt very excited. Then, when I was halfway, I found I was on a very dangerous road, and there were no walls. When the cold wind came, I was afraid. Suddenly, I heard a soft voice behind. Someone told me not to be afraid and she would help me. As I felt a pair of hands trying to keep me safe, I calm down(镇静).

Half an hour later, we arrived at a safer place. Feeling better, I turned around to see who she was. She was the short old woman. I felt humiliated for what I did and gave her a big hug (拥抱).

Through this experience, I learned that we should be kind to others because we never know what situation we'll be in and when we'll need help.

There are lots of animals on the farm. In the morning, the children can feed (喂) the hens and the ducks. They can also see the cows, and sheep. The farmer, Mr. James, has a tractor(拖拉机). At about 2 o'clock, the children can take a ride (搭乘). This is always very popular. 

We are traveling by school bus. The bus goes at 9 o'clock, so please don't be late. Please bring lunch boxes and drinks. Also bring boots, as the farm can be muddy (泥泞的). The sun is big, so bring a sun hat, too. We will be back to school at about 4:00 p.m.

A video of a man playing the piano on the street in Shenzhen became very popular online. Wearing work clothes, 57-year-old Yi Qunlin looked nothing like a musician. Many people couldn't believe it when they saw his great show.

Yi comes from a small village in Hunan. He loved music very much when he was young. He took every opportunity (机会) to learn it. At an early age, Yi learned to play the erhu from a group of people outside his home.

A few years later, he saw a piano for the first time when he visited his cousin. He loved it very much, but his family was too poor to buy one for him. So, he often went to his cousin's home just to sit at the piano. Finally, Yi learned to play the piano himself.

Yi arrived in Shenzhen in 2004. He kept teaching himself to play musical instruments (乐器) in his free time. But he didn't have an opportunity to play the piano.

A public (公共的) piano on a street gave Yi a fresh start. One day, when he was taking a walk with his son after work, he saw someone playing the piano on the street. His son asked him to give it a try. He felt a little afraid at first. But when he put his hands on the piano, his confidence (自信) came back. "Thanks to it, I can make my dream come true," Yi said.

Which would you give a boy for his birthday, a toy truck or a doll? If you choose the truck, well,you're not alone. Most people think that some toys are for boys and some are for girls. We might pick building toys or remote-control cars for boys and kitchen toys or dolls for girls. But why do we do this?Are boys and girls really born with different interests in toys?

No, they are not. Children start to show different interests in toys at age three, but only because at this time, they begin to learn about gender(性别) and to follow what others of their gender do. If you give a girl kitchen toys, she will think they are girls' toys because she sees other girls playing with them. But if you give a girl a toy car and show her a group of girls who are playing with cars, she'll play with the toy car and think it is a girls' toy. This "watch and follow" habit often becomes a rule for both boys and girls in choosing the "right" toys.

However, this rule can be bad for children. Different toys teach children different things. Dolls help with their early language use, and building toys are good for learning math and science. By playing with different toys, children can find out what they are interested in or what they are good at.

If they only play one kind of toy, they may lose this important chance. They may also get a wrong idea about what boys or girls are able to do. Some doctors worry that children may use the same kind of thinking when they look for jobs in the future. If they do, they may miss something more important than just getting a chance to play with different toys. They may miss many, perhaps better, chances in life.
