There are two thousand and two {#blank#}1{#/blank#} students at Yuying Middle School. Every day they go to school in different ways. Some students {#blank#}2{#/blank#} far from the school. Every morning they need to get up {#blank#}3{#/blank#}, or they will be late. It takes them about {#blank#}4{#/blank#} hour to get to school. Some students live near the school. They often walk to school. They think walking is good {#blank#}5{#/blank#} their health. About one hundred students ride their {#blank#}6{#/blank#} to school because they like {#blank#}7{#/blank#} bikes very much and their homes are not very far from the school. No students goes to school {#blank#}8{#/blank#} car. How about the teachers? Well, some teachers always {#blank#}9{#/blank#} to school because they live about ten kilometers from school. Some teachers live near the school, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} they just get to school on foot.

Andrew has a mental illness. He doesn't speak. He had used a picture chart to communicate. The pictures stand for words—people, places, food and activities.

Years ago, Andrew's parents discovered that he could communicate more by a letter board. He could point to and spell out words and thoughts. Using the letter board needs time and effort for Andrew. He hated to use the letter board, so his parents always offered it to him.

On Andrew's 15th birthday, his mother took him to a shoe store. After buying the shoes, she said. "It's Andrew's birthday today. Fifteen! Now we're off to celebrate."

The salesmen said happy birthday to Andrew. Instead of having Andrew point to the "thank you" on his picture chart, his mother held up his letter board and asked Andrew how he'd like to respond. Andrew pointed to each letter one by one on the board— "Thank you." Andrew's mother smiled.

One of the salesmen asked what it was. "This is a letter board that Andrew uses to communicate," his mother replied. "We've practiced it for years. It's amazing. It's changed everything for us." Then the salesman told them he had a brother called Jason. "Jason is 30 and doesn't speak," he said.

"Andrew, what do you think?" his mother turned to Andrew. Andrew started pointing to letters, "Tell Jason..." She was excited. Andrew continued, "Tell Jason he will change everyone's opinion of him in 26 letters." Andrew's mother and the salesmen were all moved and happy.

Months later, Andrew's mother returned to the shoe store and learned that Jason is now using a letter board to "speak". This is how Andrew affected another person's life in a split second (瞬间).

When I was very young, people in our village lived by planting fruit trees. My grandmother always took me to the orchard(果园)on the hill. At that time, they had to carry water from the river at the foot of the hill to halfway up the hill. Even though we worked so hard, the production level of fruit was still low because it was short of water there.

One day, two young men led a group of workers to our village. They learned about the difficulties we faced, and later, canals and other projects began to be built in my village."Who are they? "I asked."They are good men from our government," my grandma replied.

Shortly afterwards, I moved to another city for my junior high school. The only reason I ever came back to my hometown was my grandmother.

Thank those good men who have devoted themselves to the development of our countryside. Nowadays,people work hard to live in a big city. However,we should not forget our hometowns where we are from.

Dolphins（海豚）are one of the cleverest animals in the world. We may hear of many stories about how dolphins save people out of water. 

Dolphins often eat fish and some other sea animals. A dolphin with a weight（重量）of 200 kg to 250 kg will eat 10 kg to 25 kg of fish every day. 

Dolphins have good hearing. They use it to find things under the water. many scientists also believe dolphins can even talk to each other through a special whistle（哨声）. Just like people, dolphins' whistles have many kinds. 

Dolphins live in the sea, but they are not a kind of fish and they don't lay eggs. They have babies in the same way as cows and cats do, and give their babies milk. A female（雌性）dolphin has a baby every two to three years. 

Dolphins are very friendly. Sadly, there are not many kinds of dolphins left. People killed them for food and other things for many years. Now it's time to stop this and perhaps there will be more of them in the years to come.
