I went to a restaurant for lunch with my granddad yesterday, and when the starters (开胃菜) came, I got out my phone and began to take some photos of them. My granddad was very surprised, and he laughed at me."Food is for eating!"he said."And why {#blank#}1{#/blank#} you {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(take) photos of it now?"Then I was surprised. Didn't he know why?

All my friends always take photos of food in restaurants when they go out to eat, and the photos {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(share) on social media soon. When we're deciding which restaurant to go to, we look at photos people post on social media. Before I go to a restaurant, I also look at photos on social media {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(see) the food on the menu. So, when I  {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(arrive) at the restaurant, I know what I want to eat.

Yesterday, my granddad {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(choose) mushroom (蘑菇) soup for his starter because he likes soup, and I ordered fruit salad because it looked delicious in a photo I saw on my phone. Both dishes were very good.

"Granddad! We {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(finish) our starters already. Now! Look at the menu for the main course(主菜)."He couldn't {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(decide) between a fish dish and a beef dish."Would you like to see some photos of them?"I asked. He laughed again."OK!"he said.

After the meal, I asked granddad," {#blank#}9{#/blank#} you {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(use)photos on social media to choose your food next time you eat out?""Maybe,"he said."If I'm with one of my grandchildren!"

A man had a lovely house. It was so1 that many people would pay double (双倍) its price to have it. He never said yes,2 . People wondered why, but he said3 about this. 

One day, the man's house caught fire(着火). The fire was to big to4 , so the man just had to watch it even though he5 the house most. Then, the man's6 son came up behind him. He said, "Don't worry, Father.7 paid an excellent price for the house yesterday, so I sold it." As soon as the man heard that, he got a(n)8 but soon became relaxed.

Soon, the man's second son came. He looked9 and said, "Here's bad news. The buyer only gave us a small amount (数量) of10 . I'm afraid he won't want the house now." The man had tears(眼)in his eyes. 

Then, his third son came.11 he said made everyone feel good. He said, "The buyer is a good man. He just told me he would still12 it. We couldn't know about the fire. He couldn't,13 ." After that,14 of them watched the burning house with no worries.

A man of his word(说话算话的人) should get the most respect(尊重). When he keeps his word he may15 something. However, he can always bring other people a lot more.

Jim has a nice farm. On the farm, he has many kinds of plants and animals. Look at the big trees. They are apple trees. Under the trees, there are some tomato plants and potato plants. The grass is green. You can see sheep, pigs, ducks, horses and chickens on the grass. Look at the black and white sheep. It is Jim's sister's. And the white horse is Jim's brother's. How many pigs can you see? Five? No, there is another pig behind the tree.

In Chinese culture, a baby's first month birthday needs a celebration. It is a big event for the family, who usually have a big meal together. I found this out after going to my 1  Heng Yi's first month party. 

All of us went to a big 2  in Orchard Road to celebrate. On the way there, I realised that we hadn't 3  a present for Heng Yi. My mother told me that for the first- month celebration, instead of a present, we should give the baby a red packet(红包) with 4  inside. But to me, a baby would like a toy better than money that he 5  use yet. 

When we got there, there were 6  many people. We pushed our way through the crowd(人群) to 7  Heng Yi and his mother, Aunt Eng. We hadn't seen Aunt Eng 8  she gave birth to the baby. Heng Yi was very small and had a round red face. He didn't cry and was very 9 ! It seemed that he was always listening to us. Throughout the evening, everyone 10  the mother and her baby. 

After the big dinner, Aunt Eng and Uncle Loke gave each family a hard-boiled egg dyed(被染色的) 11  as gifts. The eggs are a symbol of happiness and new life, and red is a 12  colour in Chinese culture. 

Mum told me, "In ancient China, only a few babies could live over one month, 13  the first month party was important. " Later that night, Mum even took out many old photos and showed me pictures from 14  own first-month celebration. I was so glad to see what I looked like then. 

As I went to bed that night, I thought about the children in 15  times, and I was thankful that life was much easier and better today.
