It was a sunny summer day and I walked back home from school. When I stood (站在) in front of my 1 , I found I lost my key. It was very 2 for me, because I only had one key. And my parents were out for some days.

I walked around the neighborhood, wishing to find the lost key. But I didn't find it. I 3 my mom and she told me to go to my aunt's home. My aunt lived in another house of our neighborhood. I could 4 with her that day, but I still needed to get my key back.

The next day when I went past the security hut (保安室) in the neighborhood, I saw something on the window. It was my key! "Is that yours, boy?" the guard (保安) asked me. "Yes. I lost it yesterday. 5 found it?" I said. The guard answered, "I don't know. Someone picked it up last night."

I was happy. I couldn't thank the person, but I can pass on (传递) his or her kindness.

Ken is a worker in a newspaper. He works hard and is self-confident (自信) when he works as an advertisement salesman (销售员). Every time Ken begins his work, he will do some preparation (准备). He closes the door, stands before the mirror and reads the bosses' names ten times. But this time, his workmates think the task is very hard and it is impossible to finish. 

With his great effort (努力), three bosses change their mind and make a deal with him the first day. Three days later he finishes another three tasks. One month passes, only a boss still refused to cooperate (合作) with him. 

Ken works harder. He tries to learn something about his company and his family, and visits the boss every day. Every morning, when the boss opens his door, he sees Ken outside his company smiling to him and waiting for his answer.  ★  He keeps on visiting him every day. The boss asks him why. 

"It is like having a class. You're really a good teacher. You're teaching me how to keep it up when I want to do something important,"Ken answers. 

The boss nods, "In fact, you're my teacher. You're teaching me what is the power of perseverance."

 Hello! My name is Millie. This is a picture of me and my friends. My friends' names are Fred, Sandra and Jim. 

 Fred is 11. His first name is Frederick but we always call him Fred. Oranges are his favorite food. 

 Sandra is 10. We are the same age. Jim is her brother. He is 12. They have a dog. You can see it in the picture. It is small and its name is Bobbie. 

 My friends and I are in the same school. Our school is next to a park. After school, we often play baseball in the park. It is our favorite game.

A man left the airport(机场). There were many taxis. He asked every driver's name and he took the third one. It cost him $5 to go from the airport to the hotel. Then the man asked the driver to show him around the city for a whole day. For this task, the driver wanted $100. It was too much, but the man said nothing and agreed(同意). 

 The driver took the man to many places happily. 

 In the evening, they went back to the hotel. The man gave $100 to the driver and asked for another day of driving. It was another $100. The driver was very happy to be getting more money than before. 

 The next day, they went to the same places again. In the evening, the driver got his money, but he felt guilty(内疚的). He liked the man and 100 dollars a day was expensive. Finally the man's trip was coming to an end. 

"So you are going home. Where are you from?"

"I come from Kenova, Wayne County, in West Virginia. "

"Kenova?" said the driver. "I have a sister there. Her name is Susan Miller. Do you know her?"

"Yes, she asked me to give you 200 dollars!"

 How are you? I'm in a new school this term. And I am writing to tell you some{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(信息) about my school. 

 My new school is big and nice. There are nine {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(年级), 1, 400 students and 140 teachers in our school. My math teacher is a {#blank#}3{#/blank#}('hænsəm/) man. He is very nice to us. My classmates are really friendly too. We play {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(/tə' geðə(r)/) every day. They teach me Chinese and I teach them English.
