I didn't like team (团队) sports. When I started university (大学)，I 1 to try kung fu. So I joined a kung fu club. The people in the club were 2 . I was happy to join it. In the first 3 most of us were new students. I always went to the club twice a week to 4 . It wasn't a team sport，so I didn't feel 5 for not being very good. I wouldn't influence (影响) others.6 exercising，my body and mind got better. 7 ，in the last year of university I was too busy to do kung fu most of the time. 

When I moved to Italy this year，I found a great club. The club was more interesting 8 the one at my university. 

I think that everyone should 9 doing sports. I feel good when I am doing sports. I don't think a lot of people enjoy basketball at school but 10 they would enjoy yoga or volleyball. So let's do sports now! 

Liu Lingli was born in Hengyang, Hunan Province in 1973. She has been a teacher for hearing-impaired (听力受损的) children for 33 years. 

When she was fourteen, she went to study in Nanjing Normal University of Special Education. After graduation, she became a teacher at Hengyang Normal School of Special Education and taught Chinese language to first graders. She practiced sign language in front of the mirror for about two hours every day till she mastered it. 

In 2005, at the age of 32, Liu gave birth to her own child. Unluckily, the boy was found to be hearing-impaired when he was seven months old. Instead of taking him to hospital, she provided therapy (治疗) for the child herself after work. Because of Liu's tireless efforts, her son could make some sound after several months of training. 

In order to help her students speak, she puts her lips against their hands to let them feel the movement of the lips and the flow of the air. After class, she also has one-on-one training with each student for 20 minutes every day. As a result, she usually has a sore throat at the end of the day and her voice becomes hoarse. 

Liu believes anyone can succeed if he never gives up. Thanks to her help, many students showed great improvement. More than 20 of the over 80 students she has taught have received higher education. Deng Liang, one of her first students, graduated from Tianjin University of Technology in 2007. 

For her contributions (贡献) to society, especially her work with the hearing-impaired, Liu Lingli was elected as a deputy to the National People's Congress (全国人大代表) last year, and received the Person Touching China award for 2023 in April, 2024.

Wuhan is the capital city of Hubei. it is a beautiful, large and very important city in China. During last Spring Festival, the city received much tons of attention because a novel corona—virus (新型冠状病毒) appeared there and spread around the country. Several days before the Spring Festival，Wuhan was locked and the city became quiet and still. 

A big fight against the novel corona— virus was going on there. The doctors and nurses there became brave warriors (勇士) in masks (口罩), glasses and protective suits. Many of them had to work over ten hours every day drinking little or no water. They risked their health and even lives to treat the patients. Thousands of doctors and nurses from other cities and provinces in China went to Wuhan to support them. There is no doubt that they were all heroes in the fight. 

Besides doctors and nurses, everyone in our country was doing their own part in the fight against the novel corona—virus. 

That Spring festival was not as fun as it usually is. It even brought us to tears many times. However， we will never forget those difficult days, not only for the awful virus, but also for the efforts we made together and the lessons we learned. 

 When I was eight years old, my family moved to London because Father started a new job there. It was hundreds of {#blank#}1{#/blank#} ( mile) away from my grandmother, so we sometimes spent hours {#blank#}2{#/blank#}( drive) to visit her. Granny never. had much. She didn't have expensive things, or live in a nice house, but I could feel she loved us {#blank#}3{#/blank#} ( deep). I still remember those little things. Granny allowed me {#blank#}4{#/blank#}( sit) on top of her kitchen table, drinking from her coffee cup.

 Granny kept her pennies in a glass jar. She could have used those pennies herself but she kept them {#blank#}5{#/blank#} my brother and me. And I was always excited to divide the pennies between my brother and me." This is yours, and this one is {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (I)."I would do it again and again {#blank#}7{#/blank#} the jar was empty. I don't remember how many pennies there were, but I know that's {#blank#}8{#/blank#} she loved us and cared about us when we were far away from her. So if I am lucky enough to find{#blank#}9{#/blank#} penny lying on the ground one day, I am su re it is just the one from Granny in heaven.

 Although Granny {#blank#}10{#/blank#}( leave) me, those childhood memories still give me warm feelings through the years.

I used to have little passion （激情） in my life. But what happened the other day changed my mind. It was then that I learned how1 it is to have a passion in life. 

That day I went home in Mom's car. When Mom2 at a red light，someone on the side of the road caught my eye. It was a man dressed3 rags（破旧衣服）. He was homeless. That didn't interest me，4 I had seen many people like him before. Those people usually looked unhappy and hopeless. But this man was5 in some way. He was not sitting down with a6 expression. Instead，he had a7 in his hand and was dancing happily to the music. The radio seemed to be the most precious thing he had. "Mom，why does that man have a radio though he's8 ? " I asked

"He9 it，" she replied. 

"But why doesn't he use the money to buy food or clothes? He10 something that he didn't need. " "Well，Sarah，sometimes food and clothes aren't the most important. "

That man must care so11 about music that he bought a radio instead of food or clothes. I soon realized that12 is the key to life. 

Since then，I am always thinking of13 is truly important in life. A home，a meal，clothes — these things are only14 of the life. What we often forget is that we all need a joy，a light in a15 day. We all need a passion which gives a person the happiness they need to keep going.
