Hello, boys and girls! I'm Helen. The Student Art Festival starts in our middle school. Today is December 13th the first day. There is a photo show. Students take many photos. All of them are great. I love one of the photos best. It's a photo of a big family. Its name is "Happy Birthday, Grandpa!" I think this student must have a happy family, just like me.

In the next two weeks, we have other fun things—the talent show, Chinese painting show and the DIY show. I like the talent show very much. It is on the afternoon of December 19th. My classmate Tony and I will play the piano in the show. Our parents will come and watch the show. I hope we can do well.

Luxiang is an old beautiful village in Suzhou near Taihu lake built in the Southern Song Dynasty （1127-1279）. There were many famous people living in the village at that time. There are around 30 old buildings of Ming and Qing （1644-1912） dynasties now. People live a simple life. Six Lanes（巷） in the village go to Taihu lake. Luxiang looks more beautiful in spring with many tea trees and fruit gardens. This place is famous for the tea called Biluochun. Many famous movies have been filmed there. It's a place well worth visiting. The following information can help you with your trip to it.

I'm living in a small village in the countryside. My wife and I run(经营) a cake shop. We live a very peaceful life. Someone might say our simple life is boring. But we love it. We know all the people in the village. I have much time for my hobbies-- gardening, fishing and walking in the countryside. I love the outdoor activities.

 Three years ago, in 2020, I had a really terrible job in a company. I used to work very late in the office from Monday to Thursday. Usually I went home the latest on Thursdays. Luckily I could go home early on Fridays, but I had to bring work home on weekends. Because of the job, I used to smoke and drink too much.

 One day, my wife, a P. E. teacher, decided to leave me. She complained(抱怨) that she seldom saw me. She also said that I had become not humorous but serious since having the job. This made me realize what was really important to me. We talked and decided to start a new and happy life together. Last year,I gave up the job. Of course, I also gave up smoking and drinking and took up new hobbies.

A new AI system can be used to make predictions(预测) on the crop yields(产量) up to six months before harvest. The tool counts flowers on fruit trees, which can help farmers improve crop yields and make better use of water and labor, and to plan harvests.

The system, developed by researchers at the National Robotarium in Edinburgh, can count flowers on fruit trees from photos taken by a smartphone. It works by knowing features, such as the edges and shapes of flowers. In Spain, studies on peach trees showed the system to be 90% correct in flower counts, which is much better than the 30% to 50% mistakes made by humans, according to researchers.

 "In countries all across the world, farmers often depend on traditional methods to predict their yields, which can lead to big mistakes, " said Fernando Auat Cheein, a professor at the National Robotarium. "The flower-counting AI makes it possible to help farmers make wise decisions about crop management. "

"By paying more attention to the areas of the farm that are expected to produce the most fruit, farmers can make the most of resources(资源), reduce their environmental effect, and improve the harvest, " said Mr Cheein. "Our AI tool can be used with traditional farming practices, making it easier for growers to get help without completely changing their present methods. " The researchers will next compare the AI's predictions with the actual peach harvest in the following months. If these turn out to be effective (有效的), they believe the method could be used for crops such as apples, pears, and cherries, helping fruit growers in Britain, Europe, and other areas.
