"Just because you can't see something, that doesn't mean it's not there." This old saying is quite meaningful for British artist Willard Green. The items he creates are so tiny that most of them fit on the head of a pin (针). You can see them clearly through a microscope (显微镜).

At every one of his art shows, people always ask the same question, "▲"

The answer is "Very, very carefully." So carefully, in fact, that he actually slows his breath down and works in between breaths. Willard usually works patiently under a microscope using special tools that he creates. To paint his works, he uses the hair from a fly(苍蝇) as a paintbrush.

Creating these detailed works is a very long and difficult process, and it isn't always enjoyable. "It is a terrible dream when I start but a nice dream when I finish," he says. A single item can take at least several weeks to complete.

People have asked Willard why he chose to do something that needed effort and took time. When he was young, Willard was not a strong student. He had difficulty in reading and spelling words. Some kids used to call him a loser. This made him feel small, so working on little things helped him to feel big. The smaller his work got, the bigger he felt. A newspaper reporter said, "Though his works of art are small, Willard is a great artist!"

①Almost everyone has a question or two about living in space. What is life really like in space? And what do astronauts do there?

②Astronauts living in space have the same hygiene needs as people do on Earth. They wash their hair, brush their teeth and go to the bathroom as well when they wake up. However, because of micro-gravity (微重力), astronauts take care of themselves in different ways. For example, they use a kind of special tool to wash their hair and use leg restraints (腿部固定装置) to set themselves when they use the washing room. 

③Astronauts eat three meals a day: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some food can be eaten in the natural form, such as fruit. There are no fridges in space, so space food must be kept in a good way to avoid going bad. 

④Besides morning routine (常规) and eating in space, astronauts also need to do many tasks, such as checking the machines, updating (更新) computer information and so on. At the same time, the control center on Earth sends messages to the astronauts through voice or email to help them in their daily routines. 

⑤What's more, living in space is not just all work and no play. A popular way of relaxation is looking out of the window. And they can also enjoy themselves by watching movies, reading books, playing cards and talking to their families during their free time. 

The Beijing Central Axis(中轴线) shows a group of buildings and archaeological (考古的) sites that follow the traditional Chinese way of planning a capital city. It has been added to the UNESCO ( United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) World Heritage List, becoming China's 59th World Heritage Site.

Stretching 7.8 kilometers north to south through the heart of Beijing, the property includes 15 parts, with the Bell and Drum Towers at the northern end and Yongdingmen Gate at the southern end. The complex includes imperial palaces and gardens, sacrificial(祭祀的) buildings, ancient city management facilities(设施), national ceremonial (仪式的) and public buildings, and central axis road remains.

According to Lyu Zhou from Tsinghua University, there is a description of this way of planning cities in the Kaogongji《考工记》( Book of Diverse Crafts), written before 221BC.

The book mentions " court in the front, market in the back," which matches the Forbidden City and the markets at the Bell and Drum Towers area. It also includes " an ancestral temple on the left, an altar of land and grain on the right," referring to the Imperial Ancestral Temple and the Alt ar of Land and Grain, located on the east and west sides of the Central Axis.

Construction of the Beijing Central Axis began in the 13^th century and took shape in the 16^th century. It has been refined over the past seven centuries and continues to influence Beijing's development today.

" The Beijing Central Axis is a symbol of traditional Chinese ideas and beliefs, showing national order and the Chinese tradition of inclusion and diversity," Lyu added.

This morning, I went camping along a path in Green Natural Park with my friends. We were happy because it was a sunny day. We were expecting an enjoyable two- day holiday. On the way, we kept singing and making jokes. 

However, in the afternoon, when we finished our picnic at one o'clock, it was dark and windy.  Soon there was a shower. Unluckily, none of us brought an umbrella. We ran about but we could find no place to hide. 

Twenty minutes passed and it was still raining. There were hours to go before we could reach the campsite (野营地). It was even worse that our small compass showed that we went the wrong way. We lost our way!

We had to make a quick decision as it was raining heavily. Chris said we could set up a tent to hide in, so Mary and Tom helped to set up the tent. Chris and I tried to make a fire to keep us warm. But we were unable to light the fire,  ▲ . We dried ourselves, chatted and waited inside the tent. At about five o'clock, it stopped raining. We decided to give up the camping trip because all of us were very tired. 

This camping trip may not be very successful but we have got to know each other better. And the most important thing I've learned from this trip is the importance of teamwork.
