Jack and Eason were walking through the forest. They knew that it was dangerous to do this because many wild animals live in the forest. As friends, they agreed that they would stay together and help each other if there was any danger.

    All of a sudden, they saw a large bear running toward them. Jack climbed a nearby tree. He didn't think about his friend at all.

    Unluckily, Eason did not know how to climb. He could only lie down on the ground. He held his breath and pretended(假装) to be dead.

    The bear came close to Eason. He smelled the man for a moment and left. You see, bears do not eat dead animals or people.

    After the bear walked away, Jack climbed down and went to Eason on the ground.

    "Are you okay? Did the bear hurt you? If only you could climb a tree," he said, not knowing that he didn't' follow their agreement(约定).

    Eason then answered, "Do you know what the bear told me? He told me do not believe afalse friend!"

My Unforgettable Memories in Junior High

How time flies! Three years passed in the blink of an eye. 

I believe that junior high school has been a valuable experience for me, and I am grateful for all the memories I have made. 

While Li Ming was in America, he went with his class to visit a space centre. There he heard an astronaut, Piers Sellers, talk about his journey into space. 

Piers told them all about his trip on the space shuttle Discovery. When Li Ming saw Piers, he had just returned to earth after a 13-day journey to the International Space Station. 

Astronauts have to spend years in training before they can go into space. Piers waited a long time before the 'big day'. Piers had been excited but also very nervous before the take-off. He said, "It's difficult to keep calm(平静的) and relaxed during the count-down（倒计时）. The take-off was very frightening. "

Piers said that being in outer space was amazing. He saw the sun and all the planets. He saw the galaxy（银河）with its billions of stars. Unfortunately（遗憾地），he couldn't see China's Great Wall. When Yang Liwei, China's first astronaut, went into space, he couldn't see it either. But the earth still looked 'very beautiful'. 

Life was different in space. The food tasted fine but it was like baby food. The astronauts had to eat out of a toothpaste tube（牙膏管）. It was difficult to brush their teeth or have a shower. Water floats（漂浮） in bubbles（气泡） in space. There was a special 'air toilet'. 

Besides all the work Piers had to do, they exercised on exercise bikes and rowed for about two hours every day. Piers also kept a diary. 

A German astronaut stayed at the International Space Station to work for another six months. Piers had to return, but he was glad to be back. His journey into space was a wonderful experience. But he said that now he just wanted to spend time with his family and have a good meal without if floating away!

The story was a true one and still moved me deeply. Thirty years ago, I got to know a 1 lady named Rose. She had no kids and lived alone. When I went to visit her, I always took Rose some coffee and food. One day she said she wanted to 2 me to have lunch. 

We walked from my workplace to a little restaurant on David Street. On the way, I began to worry. I knew that she had no money, but if I offered to  3 the lunch, I was afraid I would hurt her. 

There were many people in the restaurant, and all of them were happy. Rose told me to sit and drink coffee by the window. Then she went to 4 in the kitchen. After about 20 minutes, she came out and sat with me. She just paid for one meal and we started to 5 the delicious food together. She told me that the restaurant let people work for a meal if they had no money, or would give them a free meal if they were not able to work. To my surprise, she also explained that the workers who were working there were all volunteers. 

I 6 remember the beautiful afternoon I shared with Rose. Though we had a meal together only once, it was paid by Rose's work. The weather was warm and bright, and everyone's smile was warm and bright too. 

I'm still thinking that life cannot be easy to us, but we can still do something for our friends and neighbors. The world will be nicer if everybody would like to share happiness with others. 

It will never be dark if there is a light in everyone's heart. 

Once a traveler wanted to go across desert. He had walked in the desert for three days without any water. He was exhausted (筋疲力尽的) from walking. When he felt hopeless, he suddenly found a small house. He pulled his tired body inside. This was a small airless house and in the corner he discovered a water pump (抽水机) . 

He was so excited and went forward to draw (抽取) water, but no water came out no matter how hard he tried. Too tired to do anything more, he fell to the ground. Then he saw a small bottle. On the bottle was a note, which read. "You must pour the water from the bottle into the pump before you draw water! Don't forget, before you leave, refill the bottle with water!" He opened the bottle and found it was filled with water! He was so happy. 

At that moment he thought, "It might be a little selfish (自私的) , but as long as I drink the water in the bottle, I can be sure to leave this room alive! However, if I do as the note says and pour the only water into the pump and no water comes out, I will die of thirst. Should I take the risk or not?" It was five minutes later that he chose to pour the only water into the pump and began to draw water. After a minute, water started to come out He made the right choice. 

After he had drunk enough water, he refilled the bottle. He added the following words after the note: Before you get something, you should first learn to pay.
