①What is doodling? It means drawing something in a simple unplanned way. You might draw a cartoon character on a wall. Perhaps you draw a picture when you are listening to music. It doesn't matter what you draw and there is no right or wrong way to do it.

②Doodling is relaxing because you don't have to make your creation perfect. Joe Whales, who is famous for doodling, says, "When I doodle, I feel I'm the happiest person in the world. I enjoy it because I can express(表达) myself freely—there are no rules in doodling."

③Another good thing about doodling is that it is easy to do. All you need is some paper and a pencil or pen.

④Doodling can also help people take in more information. A study found that those who doodled while listening to a long telephone message remembered more information than those who didn't.

⑤What's more, doodling can help people work out what makes them special. During a school visit, Cath Howe, a writer, asked pupils to draw some squiggles(弯弯曲曲的线条). Then they could fill in the spaces inside the squiggles with some words. The words described things they cared about, such as people, animals, food and hobbies. "The pupils really enjoyed doing it. Everyone doodled in their special way. I learned a lot about the pupils from it," Howe said.

 In A Life in the Trees, Rebecca Moore goes 15,000 kilometers from London to Papua New Guinea. In Papua New Guinea, Rebecca meets the Kombai people. She writes about their lives in the jungle(丛林).

 Moore lives with the Kombai women and children for three months. The Kombai people have no watches and no cars. There is no school for children. Parents teach their children to cook, hunt(狩猎) and swim.

 The Kombai get up every morning at sunrise. Kombai men hunt in the jungle. They can hunt for 12 hours. They also cut down sago palms. The women cook the inside of the trees. The Kombai people eat this food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

 The biggest thing of Kombai life is building(建造) their tree houses. The men, women and children all help build tree houses. Each house is 20 meters high. The stories in this book show the Kombai people's lives in the trees.

For many tests and exams， you are tested on your abilities to communicate successfully. In order to speak English fluently， you need to think in English. If you don't， your speech will be slow and it won't sound natural. Here are three pieces of advice for you to practice thinking in English. 

★Look at objects around your home and school， and think of what they are called 
in English. Try to make a direct connection between the object and the English word. 

★When you are out in a public place， practice describing the things and people you see in your mind. For example， think "There is a man walking down the street. He's wearing a suit. I think he is going to work. " Try to think in English first， not in your first language. 

★When you have to say something in English， think first and ask yourself， 
"What words and phrases do I know in English that I can use in this situation? " Try not to think in your first language and translate your ideas into English. If you do， you will get frustrated very quickly.

On May 5，2017, China's home-made passenger aircraft C919 completed its 90-minute first flight and landed safely back at Pudong Airport in Shanghai. 

C919 is developed by COMAC, a Chinese aircraft company. It is designed to compete with Boeing 737 and Airbus A320. The first C919 aircraft can carry 168 passengers and is able to fly a distance between 4, 075 and 5, 555 kilometers. It's reported that a C919 costs around 50 million dollars, less than half of a Boeing 737 or an Airbus A320. Up to now, more than 570 aircrafts have been ordered from 23 customers，mostly Chinese，but also American and Thai companies or airlines. COMAC aims to take one fifth of the world's narrow-body aircraft market and one third of the Chinese market by 2035. 

The name C919 has its special meanings. The letter C stands for both "COMAC" and "China". The number 9 is pronounced as jiu in Chinese, which means "forever". And the number 19 refers to its capacity (容量）of 190 passengers. 

The large passenger aircraft is praised as "the flower of modern industry". It is a symbol of the nation's industrial and technological standards as well as the comprehensive (综合的）power. In order to realize the century dream of flying in the sky and the strategy (战略）of the nation, COMAC bears the nation's dream and people's trust. China considers it as a national pride.
