I always go to school by bus. I usually 1 the No.7 bus. The traffic is often 2 with lots of buses, cars and all kinds of trucks. When I 3 the bus, I always move to the back to make room for new passengers. I 4 sit in courtesy seats. Because they are for old people, small children, pregnant women or people with disabilities. I always 5 the volume (音量) of my smartphone when I get on the bus so that I won't disturb others.

Many young people wear backpacks (背包). They don't take 6 off even when there are not many passengers on the bus. When a mother 7 a baby gets on the bus, somebody stands up to offer them a 8 . Sometimes the bus driver tells the passengers not to 9 their things on the bus. If there are some noisy people on the bus, the driver will 10 them not to speak loudly.

These days, short videos have got millions of views online. Many people create and share short videos on popular video apps like Douyin and Kuaishou. You can also add music and special effects (特效) to your videos. The videos are 15 seconds to a few minutes long. They show people doing activities like cooking, exercising and singing. 

Teenagers especially enjoy these videos. More than 50 percent of students in Grade 7 and Grade 8 said they enjoy watching these short videos. About 47 percent have posted (上传) their own videos, according to a recent report. 

The videos let teenagers see funny and exciting things they wouldn't usually see. Many teenagers like to share the fun things they do with others as well. For example, a 12-year-old user named Xiao Qianyu has posted videos showing her learning jazz dance. This has won her many fans. 

However, the videos can also bring trouble. Some students spend too much time watching them and don't spend enough time studying. Some videos have vulgar content (内容) that is not good for teenagers'mind. 

To deal with (处理) this problem, Douyin added something new in April. It stops the app if students under 14 years old use the app for over two hours a day. In the same month, the government also did something to stop vulgar content videos from video apps.

Edward Lear

Who was Edward Lear? He was a great English writer from the 1800s. He wrote many poems. His writings have a lot of strange characters and words, but they are fun. His most famous book of poems is from 

1846. It is called A Book of Nonsense! Before you read this book, you should know two things. 

Are Those Real Words?

Lear's writing is very creative because he made up words. But don't be surprised if you see them. They are just a lot of fun nonsense! There are many different strange creatures and words in his stories. For example, there are Pobbles, Jumblies, and Blue Boss-Wosses in his book. But they are not real! Many people like his work because it's interesting and funny! 

Lear's Poem Pattern

Lear wrote many of his poems in a special kind of pattern. His pattern has five lines. And he made it very

popular! When you read his poems, look for the special pattern: the last words in the first two lines will rhyme (押韵) . And in lines three and four, the last words will rhyme together. Then the last word in the final line will rhyme with the last words in the first two lines.

3. Help others.

A "thank you"can go a very long way and help you do many things, but many people forget it. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} This is very important when meeting people who are serving(服务)you, like your waitress.
