Lin Feng: Hello, Zhang Te. Your English is amazing. How did you do that?

Zhang Te: Thank you, Lin Feng. In fact, it has to do with my experiences.

Zhang Te: Of course: When I was very young, my mom took me to the US because of her work.

Zhang Te: She worked as an exchange teacher. And we lived with a host family in New York. 

Lin Feng: Then how were the host family? Were they hard to get along with?

Zhang Te: Haha, no, not at all. They were Chinese culture lovers. There were many Chinese paintings and traditional furniture （家具） in their home. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}

Lin Feng: That's so cool. So it means you have a very good relationship with the family. 

Zhang Te: Yes, that's true. Last summer they came to China and visited us. 

Lin Feng: Where did you take them?

Zhang Te:{#blank#}4{#/blank#} We walked around the West Lake and climbed up the Leifeng Tower. What they liked best was the Chinese food. 

Lin Feng: {#blank#}5{#/blank#}

Zhang Te: I think so. And I hope they can come to visit China again in the future. 

As my friend was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped.1 , he found that these huge creatures were being held by only small2 tied to their front legs. No chains, no cages. It was clear that the elephants could, at any time,3 break away from the small ropes they were tied to, but for some reason, they did not. My friend saw a4 nearby and asked why these beautiful, large animals just stood there and never tried to get away.

"Well, " the trainer said, "when they were very5 and much smaller, we used ropes of the same size to tie their legs. They tried to break away but failed. As they grow up, they still6 they can't break away. They think the ropes can still hold them, so they7 try to break free." My friend was amazed. These elephants could make it at any time, but they were stuck right where they were8 they believed they couldn't.

Like the elephants, how many of us have9 trying something new because of our limiting belief ? What's  10 , how many of us are being held back by someone else's limiting belief? Our try may fail, but never fail to try.

Some people like to live in small towns, while others choose to live in big cities. Which place would you like to live in?

I enjoy the life in a small town. Why do I 1 a small town? There are some rea- sons. I like quiet life. A small town is the best place for living quietly and 2 . And I'm able to enjoy the 3 air. The most comfortable thing for me is that I can hear the 4 of birds every morning when I wake up.

It's easy to go anywhere 5 different places are not far from each other. For exam- ple, when I want to go to the supermarket, I don't have to drive there. It is 6 my house. By the way, of all the supermarkets, I like Convenient Life best. It has the chea- pest food, and that makes me 7 much money.

I also have to say that small towns are better for families. 8 knows and cares a- bout each other there. I have two kids, and I 9 worry about them when they go to their friends' homes.

Small towns have 10 pollution(污染). This is another good point. I think a small town is the best for me.

 It's important {#blank#}4{#/blank#} ( develop) good study habits early on. Middle school is different from high school {#blank#}5{#/blank#} students have to review at home, and many of them don't realize they have to learn how to study properly. For example, while the teacher is writing on the board, you should be taking notes, and after the homework {#blank#}6{#/blank#}( finish), you should review. 

Besides, you should expect your friendships to change as well. You may come in with {#blank#}7{#/blank#} certain group of friends, but over the next few years that group might break up. This doesn't mean you've done anything bad; rather, it's only {#blank#}8{#/blank#}( nature) that as your interests change, your friends change, too. 

 High school, a new experience, is supposed to be a time of self-discovery and is meant to be among the greatest years of your life. So go out, make friends, and have fun!

There are so many ways to exercise, both alone and with friends. Team sports are one of the best ways, and there are so many of them to try! You can join a usual sport like football, and You can also take part in an unusual sport like walking basketball. 

When you join a team sport, you commit to practices and games. This means you will keep exercising because you have made a promise to the team to show up and play. And there will also be some rules you must follow. If you don't follow them, you will be out of the team. 

Team sports develop healthy competition. You can't always win, but you can certainly try your best to win! When you don't quite make it, make sure you show good sportsmanship to other players or teams when you win. And don't be sad if you lose. Just practice and try again, and there are always more chances. 

Team sports are also a lot more fun than doing something alone. You can make a lot of friends. When you join a sport team, it's certain that you will know more people. You can also learn a lot about games and other people. 

However, if you just want to exercise quietly, running and swimming are good choices.
