A growing number of people are using ChatGPT, an AI program, to create books for sale.

Until recently, Brett Schickler never imagined he could be a writer. But after learning about ChatGPT, Schickler decided that he had a good chance. "The idea of writing a book finally seemed possible," said Schickler, a postman in New York. "I thought I could do this."

Using the AI program, Schickler created a 30-page picture book in a few hours. He offered it for sale in January through Amazon. "The book has made me less than $100," he said. While that may not sound like much, it is enough to make him want to create other books using ChatGPT. Like Schickler, Kamil Bane told his wife that he could make a book in less than one day. "It was actually really simple," he said. "I was surprised at how fast it went from an idea to publishing（出版）."

However, Mark Dawson, a famous writer, was quick to call  ChatGPT-aided novels"dull", which means not interesting. He said,"If a book gets bad reviews because the writing is dull, then it's quickly going to the bottom."

Mary Rasenberger is a member of a writer's group. She said,"This is something we really need to think about. These books will pour into the market and a lot of writers are going to be out of work."

A lunch break is an important and often necessary part of our working or school day. It's time to get something to eat and maybe chat with some friends. And now we're gradually getting used to plenty of places to buy our lunch from, all offering delicious dishes and sandwiches to eat.

But buying our lunch is not just costing us money, there might be a cost in polluting our planet, too. Just a sandwich and maybe a cake and coffee can produce much waste. Packing paper and plastic are part of disposable (一次性的) materials besides the food waste that we create. Some experts say throwing away food is a big cause of environmental problems.

As for the solution (解决办法) to the problem, according to an environmental group called Hubbub, is to eat packed lunches. Tessa Tricks from the group thinks it's usually healthier and cheaper to make your own lunch.  ▲ 

Of course, if you don't have time to prepare your packed lunch and you are going to buy lunch, Hubbub proposes that you should take your own food container (容器) to a shop and ask them to put your food in it. The idea of using reusable coffee cups for hot drinks and refilling water bottles has already been known successful, so this could be another step in the right direction.

The problem with eating is that you might want to carry your food in something that is disposable, so it's a good idea to make sure it's something recyclable. The message seems to be that if we give our lunchtime eating habits some thought, we will all make an effort in the climate (气候) change and protecting our environment. That is something for all of us to consider and take action!

Have you ever heard of the company called Xiaomi in China? It was set up in 2010. They made smartphones and many other cool gadgets (电子装置) at the beginning. With the development of the times, Xiaomi decided to do something big and different. They created their very first electric car, called the SU7, and started selling it to people. The boss of Xiaomi, a man named Lei Jun, told everyone that the starting price of this new car would be 215,900 yuan (almost $30,000). It was a big event, and people were very excited. In just 27 minutes, more than 50,000 people ordered the new car.

Now, Xiaomi isn't the only company making electric cars. There are other big names like Tesla and BYD．Tesla is a car made in America, and it's known for being fast and modern. The price to start for a Tesla 3 is a bit higher, 245,900 yuan. But Xiaomi's car, the SU7, can go really, really far, at least 700 kilometers on one charge (充电)! That's more than the Tesla Model 3, which can only go 567 kilometers. At the same time, Xiaomi is thinking about how their customers use their phones and computers. They made the SU7's brain (operating system) work like the ones in Xiaomi's phones and laptops (手提电脑). This way, people can get everything connected and easy to use.

Xiaomi has big dreams for their electric car business, but no one knows yet whether they will succeed. Some analysts (分析师) think that Xiaomi's big idea will help make electric cars better and more exciting for everyone. So, what do you think? Will Xiaomi's SU7 develop faster than Tesla and become the king of electric cars? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure: the world of electric cars just got a lot more interesting.

When you think of the sea, you may not think of Xinjiang. In the public impression, Xinjiang is often remembered as somewhere far from the sea with long hours of sunlight, a vast Gobi desert, and mountains with an extremely dry climate, unsuitable for seafood production because of the massive amount of water required.

However, Xinjiang now welcome a big harvest of local "seafood", such as shrimp and crabs. The most important thing for aquatic products (农产品) is water. Xinjiang has many rivers and lakes with water from the melting snow and glaciers of the Tianshan Mountains. "With the mountains on the side, there is no industrial pollution and agricultural pollution, which keeps the water clean and favors the growth of the fish," said Li Chunyu, the head technician of the local trout farm.

Many people are worried about the safety of seafood because of the nuclear-contaminated water (核污染水). Some even feel desperate (绝望的) since they may no longer enjoy any seafood. Luckily, according to the Department of Agriculture, in 2022, the total output value of Xinjiang's fishery industry reached 4.2 billion yuan($580 million), an increase of 921 million yuancompared to 2019. Now, some of Xinjiang's "seafood" goes to many cities in China. It also goes to countries in Southeast Asia. It turns out that Xinjiang's "seafood" is becoming a new and favorable choice for seafood lovers.
