Cinyee Chiu, an artist from Taiwan, is always happy to try something new. Her amazing works won lots of prizes. Among them, "24 Solar Terms (节气)" is the most popular.

Ancient Chinese divided a year into 24 parts according to the changes of the weather. It's the 24 solar terms. But not everyone knows them well. Cinyee Chiu put the 24 solar terms in pictures to help people understand them better.

Cinyee turned each solar term into an animal. But these animals are not just animals. You can also find seasonal fruits, vegetables or beautiful flowers on them.

When spring comes, water gets warm and fish start to swim around. So Cinyee chose fish as a symbol of Start of Spring. Also, she drew spring vegetables, Chinese chives (韭菜) on the back of the fish.

White Dew (露珠) falls on about Sept. 8. It shows the beginning of the cool autumn. There are colorful leaves and cooler nights at this time of year. As the temperature falls, white dew is often seen on the grass and trees at night. For White Dew, Cinyee chose a raccoon (浣熊)—a small animal with thick hair. She drew white spots (小圆点) on the raccoon to show dew. And she used the dragon fruit to show the rich colors in autumn.

The young artist really gave the ancient Chinese culture a new look.

●To keep fit, you need to have right food for each meal. Start the day by drinking a glass of water or orange juice. It's not good to have coffee or tea with an empty (空的) stomach. You should know that water is the best drink. 

●For lunch, you'd better not have junk food like hamburgers or French fries. Fish and green vegetables are really right for lunch. They can give you all kinds of nutrients (营养) . 

●If you still feel hungry in the afternoon, eat some fruit or have some nuts (坚果) —they're good for your health. Don't eat too much sweet food such as ice cream and chocolate. It's not good for your teeth. 

●For dinner, have some bread and soup (汤) . Fresh vegetables are also suggested. 

Project- based learning (项目化学习) is learning while doing. It gives learners the chance to get a deeper understanding of a topic. During the learning, learners solve problems by using real- world examples and challenges. Project- based learning is becoming widely used in schools. Students work on a project over a period of time— from a week to a term. At the end of the project, they show their knowledge and skills by creating a product for people. Let's take the example of Sandra.

Many people in Western countries think that everyone in China knows how to do Kung Fu This is not a fact (事实), of course. But it is {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(truly) that Kung Fu is a big part of Chinese culture (文化).

Like many people, I {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(one) learned about Kung Fu by watching the movies. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(act) like Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan made Kung Fu popular. People {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(begin) to know them by their acting in the movies.

I do not practice Kung Fu. {#blank#}7{#/blank#}, the ideas behind Kung Fu are interesting. There is a saying by Bruce Lee that I {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(real) like. "Be formless (无定形的. . . . . ) . . . shapeless (不成形的. . . . ), like water, " he once said. He meant to tell each of us that we should change {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(we) when we face difficulties. "I think this is {#blank#}10{#/blank#}excellent way to live a life.

PE classes are becoming more interesting in China. Students can do many kinds of sports at school now.

T'ai chi

Gao Yuxiang from Yantai No,1 Middle School of Shandong Province enjoys t'ai chi at school. At first students do t'ai chi during breaks. And students fall in love with it soon. There is a t'ai chi match for Senior 2 students every year. "T'ai chi is different from ball games. It makes me calm down and become peaceful. It gets me ready for the next class," said Gao. After t'ai chi classes are over, Gao practises t'ai chi by himself in his free time.

Hip-hop dance

Ren Jianing is a hip-hop fan, and she has hip-hop classes in her high school this year. Every class they practise a new movement and in the next class they will learn to make a complete(整个的) dance."Our shirts are all wet after class, but I feel very happy. I join the hip-hop team. I learn teamwork and also make many good friends." said Ren.

Dragon boat race

The Dragon boat race is a tradition of Shenzhen Hongshan Middle School. Students hold the race in the playground instead of in the water.

Cannon is American and his hobby is unusual. He is interested in flags and his collection includes more than 200 flags of countries around the world. Because of his hobby, he gets the nickname(绰号)" The flagman".

Emma likes listening to music in her free time. She also likes reading books and one of her favorite books is The Old Man and the Sea. But her favorite hobby is making clothes. She thinks it is very interesting.

In Bill's free time, he likes reading books, drawing and playing volleyball. He also enjoys talking with his friends and playing the piano. He has piano lessons every Thursday and Sunday.

In Tina's free time, she often helps her parents do housework. She cleans the rooms, washes the dishes, walks the dog and helps her sister with her studies. But her favorite thing is cooking. She wants to be a great cook when she grows up.

Jessica likes doing volunteer (志愿者) work in her free time. She goes to the old people's home with her classmates twice a month. And sometimes she goes to the market to help old people. She also helps clean the park in her neighborhood.
