When Alice left university earlier this year, her parents wanted her to look for a job in their hometown. But Alice made a different {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(decide). She decided {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(work) as a volunteer in a small school.

The school is in {#blank#}3{#/blank#} poor village. When Alice got there, she {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(notice) that most of the children in the village lived with their grandparents, and many of them didn't go to school. Their parents all worked in cities far away from the village, and only came back {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(see) the children once or twice a year. So the children always felt lonely.

Every day after school, Alice went to visit those children who didn't come to school. She told them the {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(important) of getting an education. She also invited them to work with her to fix {#blank#}7{#/blank#} the broken desks and chairs at school. Then she made delicious food and gave {#blank#}8{#/blank#} food to them.

Alice tried her best {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(make) the school more like home to those children. Day by day, more and more children came to school and they changed a lot. Thanks {#blank#}10{#/blank#} Alice, now the children are much happier and healthier than ever before.

Citywalk means walking around the city. When it is getting more and more popular, we can't help wondering what places are worth walking around in a city. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}.

When you enter the Hanguang Gate, you will meet Tianshuijing Street and feel the noise and crowds being far away. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. There are also modern coffee shops and clubs.

An old building nearby has a lot of stories to tell. It always attracts many photography lovers. The next stop is the Bingjiao (Ice House) Alley. It is used for keeping the ice cubes in the summer. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. Its historical and cultural places can bring you many surprises.

Walking out of the alley, you're at Sifu Street, which leads to the Small South Gate. You shall not miss the morning market at the Small South Gate. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. You may fall in love with this area easily. In fact, besides the busy morning market here, there are also coffee shops for pleasure in the afternoon and diners and bars for a late-night meal. Having drinks and a relaxing chat with friends, you can feel the great power of the slow-paced time.

I have recently returned from a trip to London and Paris. It is great to see the historical places in London such as the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and Big Ben. If you get tired of the historical sites, I can 1 you a good place to travel—the Hard Rock Cafe. It is always 2 to get a T-shirt from there. Also, try to visit the pubs in London. It is very relaxing to visit them. Getting around in London is 3 . Just take the underground to any place in the city.

On the other part of my trip, I visited Paris. It is 4 the most beautiful city I have ever visited. I advise you to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower, visit the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre Museum. The Louvre Museum is the museum where you can 5 the famous painting—the Mona Lisa. If you are 6 good food, go to the Latin Quarter. There you will find many cheap 7 . You can spend little money on meals. However, you should know a little French, because it is difficult to get around without knowing any French. Of course you can point out what you want on the 8 , and they understand money!

A boy helped save the life of his friend from choking(窒息) in the dining hall at school while having their lunch there. Many people watched the video of the accident on the Internet. 

In the video, the new student Jackson just got a seat and ate his chicken sandwich. Suddenly the food stuck(卡住) in his throat and his face turned red. Hunter Olsen sat across from Jackson. He thought that Jackson was just joking and laughed at it along with his friends. But soon it became clear that Jackson was really choking and tried to cough the food out. He pointed to his throat to tell Hunter that he was not playing. Hunter realised that he had to do something and used the Heimlich manoeuvre(海姆利克急救法). Finally, Jackson coughed the food out and could breathe again. 

Ms Howa, who taught them the Heimlich manoeuvre during her health class, said she couldn't believe her ears when she heard what happened. But she was over the moon to know that her student put what she taught into practice.She was so proud of Hunter. 

Hunter said he wasn't interested in Ms Howa' class because he thought he would never use it in his life, but her great teaching helped him know what to do when in trouble. Then he said, "I just thought that doing something was better than doing nothing. "

It was a sunny summer day and I walked back home1 school. When I stood in front of my2 , I found I lost my key. It was very terrible for me,3 I only had one key. And my parents were out for some days.

I walked4 the neighborhood, hoping to find the lost key. But I didn't find it. I called my mom and she told me to go to my aunt's home. My aunt lived in5 house of our neighborhood. I could6 with her that day, but I still needed to get my key back.

The next day when I went past the security hut (保安亭) in the neighborhood, I saw something on the window. It was my7 ! "Is that yours, boy?" the guard (保安) asked me. "Yes. I lost it yesterday.8 found it?" I said. The guard9 , "I don't know. Someone picked it up last night."

I was happy. Picking up the key and taking it to the security hut wasn't something great, but this kind action (行为) was so10 to me. I just felt so happy. I couldn't thank the person, but I can pass on (传递) his or her kindness by learning from the person.
