One country (国家) that I really want to visit is Vietnam. In fact, I‘ve never been to Asia (亚洲). But I‘ve seen a lot of photos and videos of Vietnam online and it looks really beautiful. I think I can take relaxing boat rides around the small islands there. Also, I've heard that the food there is really nice!

The country I‘d most like to visit is England. I‘ve heard many things about it because my parents went there on their honeymoon (蜜月). And they have very good memories about the country. Besides that, I can speak some English, so it would be nice to get in some practice there.

If I could visit any country in the world, I‘d like to go to Canada. I‘m from America, and Canada is our neighbor to the north (北). I have many Canadian friends. I‘d really like to see their country for the first time!

When we talk about "health and wealth"，different people have different ideas about it. Some think that wealth means everything. To them，wealth or having a lot of money can help them to do what they want to do. With a lot of money, they can buy beautiful houses，expensive cars，beautiful clothes，and so on. They even have the idea that they can buy happiness which they like. 

On the other hand, some other people don't agree with those people above. They believe that health is more important than wealth. First，you can enjoy a happier life with a healthy body than those wealthy people with poor health. Second，you can't succeed without good health. Third，a healthy body is also necessary for a successful career or making money. 

Money can't help you buy everything，especially health, so keep healthy first if you want to become rich. It is well known that a person can make a lot of money if he has the right chance during his life. But if the person suffers from terrible illness，then no matter how much money he may make，he will still lead a bad life. Therefore，health is much more important than wealth. 

Today more and more people travel around China by high-speed train. We know that China wasn't an early starter in the high-speed rail field. Japan started half a century ago, and Ger-many did 22 years ago. But China has the largest high-speed railway system (系统) in the world. Here are some advantages of China high—speed trains.

First, China high-speed trains do well in speed. For example, the G3 train from Beijing to Shanghai only takes 4 hours and 48 minutes. But a normal-speed train takes more than 15 hours. The travel time between main cities in China has already been reduced.

Second, it's handy for you to book or cancel tickets. There are many high speed trains running during the day, especially between popular cities. You can choose your favorite one according to your plan. It's easy to cancel or change, if necessary.

As we know, airplanes and normal speed trains sometimes will not arrive on time. But high-speed trains always arrive at station on time. This type of trains are less affected (影响) by weather conditions or traffic control.

Moreover, traveling by high-speed train can make your trip more comfortable. You can enjoy nearly the same service as airplane. You can even walk around on a train and use the Internet on a high-speed train.

According to these advantages, the high-speed railways bridge the distance between people. It greatly develops people's lives.

 According to a research more than 130 billion pounds of uneaten food go to waste in Laura's country each year. That is about 30% of the yearly food supply (供应). It is a sad fact especially when you consider how many families and homeless people are in hunger.

 When Laura saw her school dining hall throw away food that was not eaten at all every day, she came up with an idea. She started a project to help her school dining hall to give away uneaten food to homeless shelters (庇护所) in her community. In the past three years, the same project has spread to other schools and some fast food restaurants throughout the city. The project is called Feed& find, and has already fed thousands of people in her city.

 How does it work? Through an app, Feed& amp; Find matches local homeless shelters with school dining halls and restaurants that have uneaten food to provide. When dining halls or restaurants have uneaten food left, they can use the app to share the information about the food. A truck driver working for the project is then sent to pick it up and take it to a shelter.

 Pretty cool, right? It's not surprising that people in other cities have got in touch with Laura hoping that she could have developed similar projects for their communities.

 Some people, however, have concerns about the safety of the uneaten food. They think such food may not be clean enough. Still, this project is a clever way to help solve the problem of food waste and it helps those in need.

Do you like summer holiday？In Australia, summer holiday is from late December to early February. Students have to finish their homework. They should read some English books and write reports. They also seed to do science projects with their classmates. They often go to special classes to learn swimming, singing and cooking. And they really like to go to the beach to camp with their parents. 

Summer holiday in the US is very long, from early June to around late August. Teachers will give summer homework. But if students don't do it, it's OK. There are many classes and camps. They can be about sports, or outdoor survival skills （户外生存技巧）. Some students also go camping with friends or family. Some students will try to make money by doing the housework. Some will do voluntary work like helping the elderly or the poor for free. 

In France summer holiday usually goes from mid﹣June to the end of August. But the first day is different for everyone because of the day of the last exam. French students don't have any homework or classes. They spend the holiday having fun. Some students like traveling around the world. They see nature in Africa. They visit America to learn English. They go to China. Other students have fun in France. They camp on the beach, see friends watch movies, go swimming and have barbecue （烧烤）

Kate Sessions was interested in trees when she was a child. While other girls didn't want to get their hands dirty, little Kate enjoyed picking up branches(树枝) and fruits in the forest. Kate also danced and sang songs happily there. She felt the trees were her friends. She loved the way they grew toward the sky and how their branches stretched(延伸) to get the light. Kate thought the trees were like big umbrellas that protected her and the animals, birds and plants that lived in the forest. Kate smiled as she walked among the trees, enjoying the sounds of birds. Not everyone felt at home in the forest,but Kate did.

Kate learned well in school. She learned how to read and write. She remembered the stories she read. But best of all, she liked studying wind and rain, plants and trees, especially trees. At that time, very few girls chose to study science, but Kate chose to learn ecology(生态学) because of her love for it. She still tried to make her dream come true as a person who knew much about trees. 

After leaving school, Kate came to San Diego, a city with few green plants and bad air. Kate made a decision to better the air of the city, so she brought different kinds of trees to San Diego and called on her friends to plant trees with her. With hard work, they made Balboa Park in San Diego a beautiful and fantastic garden. Kate is also known as the" Mother of Balboa Park".
