One rainy morning, my phone woke me up. It was a phone call from a1 driver who had my friend's mobile phone. 2 , my friend had left it in the taxi the night before.

 A 3morning for taxi drivers in this big city is a very busy time. He asked me where he could meet me to give me the mobile phone. I told him the street where I lived. Then I quickly 4and got dressed in order to meet   5 on the corner.

 My friend had only recently moved to this city. So his mobile phone was very  6 to him.

 When the taxi driver arrived, I thanked him and praised him  7 having such a kind and beautiful heart. I asked him for his name,  8 my friend himself could thank him. He said my praises and 9 were all that he needed. Then he drove off.

 I told my friend how I had received his 10 . Hearing this, he was thankful and said kindness was really everywhere in this world.

    Like any other good mother, Karen did whatever she could to help her three-year-old son, Michael, get prepared for a new baby when she found out that another baby was on the way. They 1 that the new baby was going to be a girl, and day after night, Michael sang to his 2 in Mommy's tummy(肚子）.

    Finally, Michael's little sister was born. But she was in 3  condition. The baby was sent to St. Mary's Hospital. Days went by. The doctor told the parents “There is very little 4 . Be prepared for the worst.”

    Michael kept asking his parents to let 5 see his sister. “I want to sing to her,” he said. Two weeks passed. It looked as if the worst situation would come before the week was over. Michael kept asking about singing to his sister, but kids were 6  allowed in ICU. However, Karen made up her mind that she would take Michael to see his sister who was sick.

    She7  him in an oversized scrub suit(消毒服）and went into ICU. The head nurse shouted, “Get that kid out of here now! No children are allowed.” Karen said firmly,” He is not leaving 8  he sings to his sister!” Michael was sent 9  his sister's bed. He began to sing. In the sweet 10  of a three-year-old, Michael sang: “You are my sunshine, my only sunshine; you make me happy when skies are gray...”11  the baby girl moved. The pulse rate(脉搏）became calm.

    Michael kept on 12 . “You never know, dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away...”The breathing became smooth.

    Michael kept on singing, “The other night, dear, as I lay sleeping, I dreamed I held you in my 13 ...”Michael's little sister relaxed.

    Michael kept on singing, “you are my sunshine, my only sunshine. Please don't take my sunshine away.”

    The next day--the very next day--the little girl was 14  enough to go home!

    The doctors just thought it a miracle(奇迹）.Karen 15  it a miracle of love!

    It was a cold snowy morning after the winter vacation. And it was my first 1 at my new school. I was walking alone slowly and 2 about lots of things. It was early and there weren't many people on the road. Suddenly a girl who was 3 a bike on ice fell down. She was trying hard to get up but fell again. 4 thinking, I went over and helped her. She said “5” with a smile and then rode away. Her words warmed me a lot.

    Finally, I got to school. The teacher led me to the 6 and introduced me to the class. Then he asked me to sit down beside a girl. I felt so 7 that I didn't dare to look at her. Soon the first class, 8, started. Their textbooks were different from those in my old school. As I was wondering 9 to do, an English book appeared in front of me. “Let's share,” the girl beside me said, “Hi, I'm Carrie.” I 10. It was the girl I helped this morning. Later on, we became good friends.

    From that I learned: to help others is actually to help ourselves!

    It was l sunny Sunday afternoon. John's parents were not in. John decided to go to the Happy Theater to watch a talent show, so he 1. Only Barky, John's pet 2stayed at home. Just after John left, a bad person 3 the window, and then he came into the house 4it. He began looking for expensive things in the rooms. He found some 5in a box. He took out the money, but as he was leaving, he 6 a dog's barking (叫声). He looked around and found Barky looking at him angrily. He was very scared.

    Barky was about to bite (咬) him when John came home. John let Barky sit down and told the bad person, "Come with me to the 7, or Barky will bite out!" So the bad person had to 8 John to the police station with Barky close behind. A 9put handcuffs on (给...戴上手铐) the bad person after John told him the thing.

    Barky had a(n) 10 for watching the house. But the bad person didn't know.
