Ear Cleaning Lesson So you' re watching TV now. Suddenly, your ea r starts to feel a little bit uncomfortable. After you dig your little finger around in your ear for a while, you dig out a little brown ball. That's earwax.
Earwax is produced in your inner ear canal(管, 道). The dead skin cells(皮 肤 细 胞 ) and oils in the canal mix together to form these little brown balls. They help keep the skin in our ears healthy and slightly wet, protecting the ear canal.
However, the helpful earwax can sometimes make our ears uncomfortable. At that point, should we try to get it out? Never use cotton swabs! Millions of people use cotton swabs to clean their ears. Well, in fact, while you may be able to get a little bit of the earwax out, you're probably just pushing more of it back in. And the inner end of ear canal can be filled with earwax. Even worse, the car drum may also be hurt because of cotton swabs. In daily lives, if you really want to, you can clean your outer cars with a little soap, water and a washcloth. And most of the time, there's no need to clean ear canals. The ear canal can naturally push out extra (额外) earwax. When you run, bathe or do other things, the extra earwax will fall out. So the best way to get the extra earwax out of our ears is— just to leave it alone.
