Modern (现代的) life is not relaxing. We are very1 every day. Many people go to school or work without eating breakfast. This is not2 . Breakfast is very important. Also, it is good to have four or five3 meals every day, not one or two big meals. We can eat much4 and vegetables, such as apples, oranges, tomatoes and so on. Sports can also5 us to keep healthy.

Good habits make us feel good. 

Tom was an eight-year-old boy. He came to a new town with his parents. His family was very rich(富有的). They lived in a big, beautiful house with a big garden. There was a driver, a cook, a gardener and a lot of servants(佣人).

Tom was going to a new school. On the first day, his mother said to him, "Tom, be modest(谦虚的) at school. Don't say we are rich. "Tom said, "All right, Mum. "Then he went to his new school.

He met his new teachers and classmates. The teacher said, "Good morning, boys and girls! This is Tom, your new classmate. Now let him introduce himself to you. "

Tom stood up and said, "My name is Tom. My family is poor. My father is poor. The gardener is very poor. The cook is poor. And all the other servants are very poor too. So I am a poor boy……"

One day, a father is doing some work when his son comes and asks,"Dad, can I ask you a question? How much do you make an hour?"

His father gets a bit bored and answers,"Why do you ask such a thing?" The boy says, "I just want to know. Please tell me." His father then says that he makes about $50 an hour.

"Oh, that's too much!"the little boy answers with his head down. Looking up, he says,"Dad, can I please borrow $30?" The father gets angry and says, "That's why you ask about my pay? If you want to borrow some money to buy a boring toy, then you'd better go back to your room. I work hard every day and I do not like such a thing."

 ▲After about an hour or so, the man calms

down. He goes to the boy's room and opens the door."Are you sleeping, son?"he asks. "No, Dad,"the boy answers. "I am thinking—maybe I am too hard on you earlier," his father says. "Here's the $30 you want."

The little boy sits up with a smile. Then, he takes out $20 from his schoolbag, and looks up at his father. He says,"Dad, I have $50 now. Can I buy one hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you."

With no words, the father's eyes turn red.

Now, I'd like to share{#blank#}1{#/blank#} I learned through Travelling Guide a few weeks ago.

Thousands of visitors each year enjoy Haleakala National Park, one of the{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(unusual) national parks in the United States, on the island of Maui. Ships stop at the island and buses take{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(group) of visitors to see the huge volcano there. Visitors also may take a walk in the rain forest{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(create) by the volcano thousands of years ago.

The park offers visitors a sight of nature at {#blank#}5{#/blank#} majorities of people never have the chance to take a look. At the top of Haleakala,{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(look) down inside what is the most active part of the volcano, we can see that the volcano {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (leave) thousands of different shapes of lava stone ever since. Hundreds of years of rain and bright sun have cut long paths in the stone. There are mainly 3 stone areas. One big area seems{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (be) deep and dark red. Another two areas seem almost yellow and green. It looks as {#blank#}9{#/blank#} someone spilled( 泼 洒 ) many colors of paint over the huge areas. The lava stone areas are colorful because the lava is rich{#blank#}10{#/blank#} many kinds of minerals.

During the summer vacation, some boys came to a tall tree. They wanted to play a game to see who could climb to the top of the tree first. Their mothers sat there, looking at the children. 

David was one of the boys. He was young and short. No one thought he would win the game. When the game started, all of the boys tried to climb as high as they could. They all made it halfway (在中途) up the tree before David got to the top of the tree first in the end. 

His mother was amazed to see it. She asked, "David, how did you get to the top so quickly? "

David said, "The other boys kept looking down as they climbed. When they learned how high they were, they got scared and were afraid of falling down. But I only looked up. When I saw how close I was, I kept climbing. " It's true in life that if we keep moving forward (向前) without looking back, we will get close to our dreams. 

I come from Lanxi, Zhejiang. I want to tell you a story. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} My father's name is Li Wenwen. He is a big fan of Lei Feng. And he likes collecting old newspapers, too. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} He then got the idea of collecting things about him. My father has many old things about Lei Feng. He not only collects those things but also listens to stories behind them.

{#blank#}3{#/blank#} She asks him to have some exhibitions(展览), so more people can learn from Lei Feng. Now, there is an exhibition room in my house. People can see a lot of old things about Lei Feng in it.

 My father wants people to inherit(继承) the spirit(精神) of Lei Feng. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} On Saturdays and Sundays, he often goes to visit a children's home or an old people's home. He always says, "{#blank#}5{#/blank#}" I think my father is great!
