A man in Fairhope reunited with a special photo of his late wife that was blown away in the strong winds of Hurricane Sally, all thanks to the help of strangers, Kimberly and Bjarke, on social media.

Scott said on Facebook the photo of his late wife, Amy, was usually on the dashboard of his Jeep. The photo was taken in April 2017, after Amy described it as "her first night home from the hospital".

"In fact, we all knew her brain cancer had progressed," he wrote. "The photo has sat in the same spot on the dashboard of her Jeep, now my Jeep for three years now."

Three years ago, Amy lost her battle with brain cancer. And the photo was so meaningful for Scott. But when Scott and his daughter were traveling to Point Clear on Sept. 16 to check on Amy's grave after Hurricane Sally went through the region, he said the photo was swept out of his Jeep by winds.

"We stopped to get out and check and as soon as I opened the door a wind came through; because my little girl's window was down, the photo took off," he added.

Scott said he thought the photo was gone forever, because he thought the strong wind and heavy storm would do damage to everything, until that Monday, Sept 20, when he spotted a post on the "What's Happening in Fairhope" Facebook group.

Once there was a merchant who had fine silks and rug(s a city on the other side of the desert (毛毯) to sell. He wished to send his goods to Abdul the merchant owned a large caravan(商队)of camels, and he employed many men. For many days, Abdul and his men had been preparing for the journey, because of the boundless desert with hot sand and the grass out of sight for miles. It required many camels to carry the merchant's goods, tents, bottles of water, firewood, bags of rice and some tools.

At last the caravan was ready for the journey. The sun shone steadily, making the sand so hot that no one could walk upon it in the daytime. So Abdul and his men traveled all that night. One man was the pilot. He rode ahead because he knew the stars, and he could guide the caravan by them.

They traveled night after night, resting during the heat of the day. Unfortunately, when the caravan started another evening, the pilot led the way as usual, but after a while, weary with many nights of watching, he fell asleep.

All night long the caravan traveled. At daybreak the pilot awoke and looked at the last star fading in the morning light. "Halt(停下)!" he called." The camels must have turned while I slept. We are at the place from which we started yesterday." Even worse, another man shouted, "The man with the camel carrying the rest water and firewood, who is walking at the end of our group, is gone!"

There was no water to drink. There was no firewood to cook the food. The men lay down with despair, "We are lost!"

Bobby was getting cold sitting out in his backyard in the snow. Bobby didn't wear boots; or rather, he didn't own any. The thin sneakers he wore had a few holes in them and they did a poor job of keeping out the cold.

Bobby had been in his backyard for about an hour already. Try as he might, he could not come up with an idea for his mother's Christmas gift. He shook his head as he thought, “This is useless. Even if I do come up with an idea, I don't have any money for a gift.”

Wiping tears from his eyes, Bobby started walking down to the street where the shops were. It wasn't easy being six without a father, particularly when he needed a man to talk to.

Bobby walked from shop to shop, looking into each decorated window. Everything seemed so beautiful but so out of reach. It was starting to get dark and Bobby reluctantly turned to walk home when suddenly his eyes caught the glimmer (激光)of the setting sun's rays reflecting on something on the roadside. He reached down and discovered a shiny dime (一角硬币).

Never before has anyone felt as wealthy as Bobby did at that moment. As lie held his newly-found treasure, warmth spread throughout his entire body and he walked into the first store. His excitement quickly turned cold when salesperson after salesperson told him that he could not buy anything with only a dime.

He saw a flower shop and went inside to wait in line. When the shop owner asked if he could help him, Bobby presented the dime and asked if he could buy one flower for his mother's Christmas gift. The shop owner looked at Bobby and his one dime offering. Then he put his hand on Bobby's shoulder, saying, “You just wait here and I'll see what I can do for you.” As Bobby waited, he looked at the beautiful flowers and even though he was a boy, he could see why mothers and girls loved flowers.

With the bunch of roses in his hands, Bobby walked out of the door and then broke into a run.

请阅读下面图画和短文,并按要求用英语写一篇150词左右的文章。

There was a boss who made a contract with his workers: he will pay their salary each week, but not in cash. Instead, the workers would choose some goods in a shop, which equal the value of their salary. Then he will pay the cash to the owner of the shop.

But one day, one of the workers complained to his boss, “The shop owner said 'no cash, no goods'. And he requested us to pay in cash.” For that reason, the worker asked the boss to pay him in cash, too. The boss agreed. After a while, the shop owner came to the boss, asking him to pay for his workers.

The boss was confused and looked into the issue, and finally found out that the worker told a lie. However, he paid the shop owner as usual, because he must keep his promise, even he was cheated and had to pay more money.

Good merchants won't scrap(废除)their contracts. They won't sign contracts easily and usually chaffer(论价)for their benefits if they have to sign them. But after that, they will definitely follow them whatever the price.

As we stepped off the plane in Pucón, the lively atmosphere of the town immediately lifted our spirits after the long flight from New York.

The contrast between the freezing Big Apple and the warmth of Pucón was striking. The climate was delightful, which was a welcome change from the busy New York City.

"Feel that?" my friend said proudly, bathed in the gentle sunshine. "This is what I call a vacation!"

Our guide, Herman, was waiting for us with a broad smile. His English was limited, but his enthusiasm was boundless. He greeted us with heartiness, "Welcome to Pucón! I have everything ready for you."

We spent our first day settling into the luxurious house he had arranged for us. The unique design of the house deeply attracted us. The house was a combination of modern luxury and traditional charm, neat and tidy, with tall windows framing the greenery outside.

Herman insisted on taking care of our every need. He would not even let us lift a finger in the house, which was above and beyond his duties.

One evening, as we wandered along the beach, the sky transformed into a canvas(画布)of rich colors. We were placed in a world of wonder. My friend turned to me, eyes sparkling, and said,"This is why we travel, isn't it? Moments like these make everything else fade away."

As we planned to go to another town to admire the unique architecture, something unexpected happened. I got a fever.

Our explorations were cut short. Lying in bed, I could hear my friend pacing outside my room, worried. And our travel plans were put on hold as there was no choice but to rest in the hope that I would recover soon.

The next morning, my fever worsened. Being new to the area and struggling with the language barrier, we felt helpless.

注意:1)续写词数应为150左右;

2.)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。

Just then, Herman appeared.

With Herman's help, I began to recover.

David's parents left him forever in a car accident. He was brought up by his dear grandma, who was now in her eighties and in poor health. David was so excellent at his studies that he was admitted into his ideal college. He developed friendship with Christ when they were seated next to each other on the first college day. They were like brothers.

Whenever Christ was challenged with those difficult courses, David was always there to help Christ. Christ showed his thanks to David from the bottom of his heart, saying, "Without your help, I couldn't get on well with my studies. I really don't know how to repay your help." David responded, "We are good friends. It's natural for us to help each other."

It was the early morning of Saturday. David had a fever and couldn't get out of bed. Christ took good care of him. He cooked David some soup and then gave him some medicine. He thought a sound sleep would help David get better. David felt comforted with the care of his friend. Then he fell asleep.

David didn't know how long it had been before he woke up. He saw some food which was newly cooked on the table and there was also a note, which read, "Take the food and you will get better. I need to be away for several days. Take good care of yourself. Christ." He didn't detail David about what he was going to do. Later someone told David that Christ bought a bus ticket to David's hometown. David felt confused. But he thought that maybe Christ had something personal to attend to and it was not suitable to tell him.

On Monday, David got better and went to classes. Obviously, Christ was not there. He missed the classes.

注意:1. 续写词数应为150左右;2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。

On learning about this, David suddenly realized the truth.

Chloe Chang wasn't sure about giving up her blue, pink, and purple mermaid(美人鱼)palace. Her twin brother Clark had packed a paper bag full of T-shirts and shorts that no longer fit him. "It's time to go," called their mother, Mrs. Chang.

The twins raced from their bedroom to the living room. On the floor, they saw a basket full of books and some toys. Clark emptied his bag down while Chloe held on to her mermaid palace. Their dad, Mr. Chang, packed everything into the family's big-wheeled cart. When he reached for the palace, Chloe put out her hand and insisted on carrying it herself.

As they left their home, Mr. Chang and Mrs. Chang took turns pulling the cart to the park, with Chloe and Clark walking behind. The palace felt heavy in Chloe's arms, but she refused to put it in the cart. A while later, Clark pointed at a banner(横幅)hanging between two trees that read in big letters: NEIGHBORHOOD GIVEAWAY. "Look! It's right there!" Clark shouted.

Their neighborhood park was full of bags and boxes. Each family brought gently used items that they no longer needed, and everyone was invited to take what they would like at the monthly gathering. Clark's eyes grew wide as he watched all the toys resting on picnic blankets, including baby toys, plastics and buckets, stuffed animals, and 300-piece puzzles. One puzzle showing puppy dogs playing in grass caught Clark's attention. The dog on the box reminded him of his pet Chewie. However, he put the puzzle down, thinking of the huge number of puzzles he already had. Afterwards Clark happily jumped behind his mom.

Mr. Chang unpacked the items they had brought placing them on a red blanket. "Why do we have to give away our things?" asked Chloe unhappily. "Honey, I know it's hard to say goodbye to things you used to play with. But your mom and I want to give away things we don't need anymore. Our neighbors can use them," Mr. Chang explained. Suddenly their neighbor Ms. Ruby and her daughter Penelope approached their blanket.

注意:1. 续写词数应为150左右;2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。

Ms. Ruby, with her usual bright smile, greeted the Changs while Penelope examined the items displayed.

……

"I think it's time for my palace to have a new owner," Chloe whispered.
