More than 60 per cent of children and teens do not get enough sleep, which can put their health at risk, according to a report by the Chinese Sleep Research Society.

Nearly 63 per cent of Chinese youths ages 6 to 17 sleep less than eight hours a day, according to the report. Among 13 to 17-year-olds the number is more than 81 per cent. The report was based on a survey at the end of last year and in January. It covered nearly 70, 000 children and teens ages 6 to 17 all over China.

The report found that two top causes influenced students' sleep. From Monday to Thursday, 64 per cent of the group would still be busy with their homework after 11 p.m.. More than 41 per cent of children and teenagers who sleep too little use computers and mobile phones.

The survey also showed that good sleep makes study effective(有效的). Some students who sleep longer generally finish homework in two to three hours. Some other students may require four to six hours because they sleep less. Zhao Zhongxin, a professor studying sleep disorders, said, "Sleep helps growth, protects the brain and makes the immune system(免疫系统) better. Long-term loss of sleep will bring risks of disease and cause lasting health damage."

Some specialists suggested that local education authorities all over China take action to help students get more sleep, including putting off the start of morning classes by half an hour.

There have been accidents in recent years where many people dead because of unsafe and crowed situations. Getting caught in large crowds can be deadly. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

Make full preparations. Before you attend a large event with lots of people, choose comfortable shoes and clothes. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Beside it is necessary know where you can get out quickly such as the exit doors, windows or hallways. Leave right away if you find there are too many people in the place.

Find somewhere away from the crowd. Staying at the edge(边缘) of a crowd allows you to get away more quickly. If danger truly happens, look for places to protect yourself as quickly as possible. At an indoor site, this might be a side hallway or a closet. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}

Keep moving with the crowd. If you can't take cover, keep moving with the crowd. As you move forward, it's best to move in a diagonal(对角线的) direction so you are likely to find a place to protect yourself. Don't try to pick up anything on the ground. Keep standing up and put your arms up so that you can have some room for breathing.

{#blank#}4{#/blank#} If you fall down, don't be nervous. Calm down and try to lie on your left to protect your heart and lungs. Cover your head with your arms and hands. It's a simple pose, but it's surprisingly useful and possibly life-saving.

A. Lie on your side if you fall.

B. Run away as soon as possible.

C. Here are some ways to help you to be safe.

D. Outside, look for trees, cars or anything large to climb on.

E. Make sure they won't cause you to fall off when you run.

 从所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项

If you want to enter the subway, you have to hold your transportation card or smart phone in your hand. Would it be a trouble if you are busy with other things, such as taking care of your children or dogs.

Now, good news has arrived for some passengers. A subway line in Shenzhen uses 3D facial recognition(人脸识别) technology to help recognize passengers. All they need to do is downloading(下载) the required app, and then they can enter the station just by looking into a screen at the gate for about 2 seconds. In this way, they can enter the subway more quickly than scanning a OR code (扫描二维码). The new technology greatly speeds up entry times. Now, about 30 to 40 passengers can pass through the entrance every minute.

Facial recognition has been used in many other areas of our life. At KFC stores across China, customers can order their meals by scanning their faces in front of a self- serving screen. Customers used to carry bank cards or mobile phones to withdraw money, but now they can do that just by scanning their faces at the ATMs of banks. With the help of this technology, the security check(安检) step in the airport can be completed in about 12 seconds, according to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.

Do you think facial recognition will totally take the place of OR codes?

 阅读以下材料,从下面方框中所给的 A、B、C、D、E五个选项中(其中有一项多余),选出能填入小题的最佳选项,并完成 35 题的任务。

How to make friends at a new school

Starting with a new school can be difficult. Everything seems to be different, and you don't even know where to go for your own classes. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}However, if you follow the advice, you can quickly turn some of those strangers into friends.

Be yourself.

{#blank#}2{#/blank#} If some people don't accept you, they're not the kind of friends you need. People often stay together because they have similar interests. For example, someone who does a lot of sport may make friends with those who also run or swim a lot.

Believe in yourself.

A smile goes a long way. When you walk in the halls, don't keep your eyes on the floor. Raise your head and make eye contact with other people. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Introduce yourself. Tell them your name and where you're from.

Remember people's names.

You like it when people use your name, and so do other people. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}Besides, ask them in a kind way if they have a nickname(昵称). You'd be surprised how often this might come in handy.

A. Making new friends can be hard, too.

B. Never change who you are just to try and fit in.

C. If you see someone you know, smile or say "Hi".

D. People may become angry if you just begin by saying "Hey" each time.

E. Don't sit at the back of the classroom where other people don't notice you!

What other advice can you give to make new friends? (不超过 20 词){#blank#}5{#/blank#}
