Waste can be seen everywhere and it can bring a lot of problems. China is rich in some resources(资源),   {#blank#}1{#/blank#} we are short of others, for example, fresh water. It is said that we will have no coal(煤) or oil to use  {#blank#}2{#/blank#}   100 years. Also there is not enough food in some areas. So if we keep  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}   our resources, what can we use in the future and {#blank#}4{#/blank#}   can we move? Think about it, I think we should  {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  “no” to the people who waste things every day.

In our everyday life, we can do many things {#blank#}6{#/blank#} waste from happening. For example, remember to turn{#blank#}7{#/blank#} the lights when we leave the room and we'd better use both {#blank#}8{#/blank#} of paper. Also we should try not to order {#blank#}9{#/blank#} food than we need and so on. Little by little, everything will be changed, waste can be stopped one day if we do {#blank#}10{#/blank#} best.

     Time passes swiftly and never r{#blank#}1{#/blank#} Our three years of Junior high school life will come to an e{#blank#}2{#/blank#} We'll have to say goodbye to each other—to our best friends and to our beloved teachers.     Three years ago, three boys came to a school from different places. They were my best friends and I. At that time, we were young and shy of each other. Joe Hoagland was three years old when the story began. And Fonzie is a dolphin (海豚).

When Joe was born, he had a problem with his heart and doctors had to operate (动手术) on him. The operation didn't go well and he couldn't move the left side of his body. The doctors at the hospital didn't think he could get better.

His mother Deena took him to different places for treating. Joe liked being in the water and Deena thought swimming could help him. One day, she went with Joe to a place called Dolphin Plus, where people swam with dolphins. Joe met Fonzie there and the story began.

Soon, Joe wanted to see Fonzie every day. Joe loved playing with him and feeding him. Joe always fed Fonzie with his left hand. Slowly, he got better and better. Deena saw that Joe's friendship with Fonzie helped him a lot, and she knew it was a good idea for other people, too. So, she and her family worked to open a place called Island Dolphin Care. Many people with health problems came to spend time with the dolphins. Sadly, Fonzie died when Joe was 17. Joe wrote: Fonzie was a great friend to me. We shared a lot of good times. I will always remember him.

Four people died and {#blank#}1{#/blank#} 97 were injured in a 7.3-magnitude earthquake that hit the sea area near Hualien in China's Taiwan on Wednesday morning. One driver was killed by {#blank#}2{#/blank#} rocks, while the other three lost their {#blank#}3{#/blank#} on a road inside a major tourist attraction in Hualien, according to local media. 

Taiwan's meteorological agency (气象厅) recorded the earthquake as measuring 7.3 magnitude, calling it the {#blank#}4{#/blank#} earthquake to hit the island in 25 years {#blank#}5{#/blank#} a deadly earthquake struck on Sept 21, 1999. {#blank#}6{#/blank#} the earthquake, the Ministry of Natural Resources warning center sent out tsunami (海啸) warnings. 

According to Taiwan's meteorological agency, the earthquake was tracked at a {#blank#}7{#/blank#} of 15.5 km. The epicenter (震中) was {#blank#}8{#/blank#} in the south-southeast of Hualien. The maximum strength recorded was 6 magnitude in Hualien. Local authorities have announced the stoppage (罢工) of work and school classes in Hualien. 

Strong shakes {#blank#}9{#/blank#} across Taiwan. Xinhua reporters in Taipei experienced strong shakes as buildings shook continuously for over a minute. Elevators in the {#blank#}10{#/blank#} apartment building were stopped from operation (运转). Parts of some residential (居民的) buildings has fallen off in Hualien, forcing the moving out of hundreds of residents.

On 28 of March Richard Byrd stood outside the small house. He shook hands with the menwho were leaving. They were heading back to the main camp on the coast of Antarctica （南极洲）. 

He would1 to work at the base camp. 

"I don't like leaving you here alone，"Pete Demas said. "I'll be2 ，"Byrd replied. 

He was looking forward to the challenge of spending the winter at the base camp. He would be recording the weather. There was plenty of food and fuel （燃料） in the tiny house. He felt sure3 would go wrong. 

But something did go wrong. Byrd was burning the fuel for4 . But the fumes （有毒气体）were not leaving the house. Slowly he was being poisoned（中毒）. On May 31 he broke down.

On August 11Demas and two others reached the base camp. They13 recognized （认出） Byrd. He was very thin and looked terrible. Byrd14 them and then fell to the ground. The men had arrived in time. After two months of care，Byrd's good15 returned. He and his men worked together again. 

 Once there was a little boy called Charles who was raised in an orphanage(孤儿院).

 Charles wished that he could 1 like a bird. It was very2 for him to understand why he could not fly. The birds at the zoo were much bigger than 3 , and they could fly.

 Another little boy, Harry, had something wrong with his4 . He always wished that he could walk and run like other little boys and girls.

 One5 Charles ran away from the orphanage. He came by a park and saw the little crippled(跛脚的) boy playing in the sand. He ran towards Harry and asked him if he wanted to fly like a bird.

"No," said Harry. "But I have wondered6 it would be like to walk and run like others."

"That is very sad." said Charles. "Do you think we can be 7 ?" he asked.

 The two little boys played for hours. They made 9 castles(城堡) and had fun. Then Harry's father came with a wheelchair to 10 his son to have dinner. Charles ran over to the boy's father and whispered(小声说) into his ear.

"That will be OK," said the man.

 Then Charles spoke to his new friend, "You are my only friend and I wish there was11 I could do to make you walk and run like others.12 there isn't. I hope this can make you happy."

 Charles13 and told his new friend to sit on his back. He then began to run across the grass. Faster and faster he ran, carrying the little crippled boy on his 14 .

 Harry's father was moved to15 as he watched his beautiful little crippled son flapping(拍打) his arms up and down in the wind, shouting at the top of his voice,

"I'M FLYING,DADDY!"
